People at my school were playing the hell out of it in 1980.
Only 2 albums and yet they achieved more musically than most could with a dozen, the whole 2 Tone movement was one of the best musical movements this country has known.

Timeless innovative creativity. One blood, one people, one human family. We are now "living in a real gangster town" and "ghost town" also so relevant today.
And with the belief in many young people that they need to carry a weapon to protect themselves in these days of knife crime,when by all accounts it only serves to make them statistically more likely to be attacked.
I always loved the fear in the bass line at the start of the first verse, getting more confident as the verse progresses.

Can almost get that feeling of trepidation at being about to be chased in the night through the cityscape by the mob/animals/NF.

The Specials saw everything as it was and how it was going to be...like we all did, who listened to their lyrics and the lyrics of the other great bands of their era. Nothing has changed at all. Yes, it has The Natoinal Front was a Rgihgt Wing Organization in the UK> I don't t think it exists any more. It definitely doesn't exist in the US nor is Right Wing Groups a real threat to the Average Person in America. I think if they would do an update of this song- and maybe an accompanying Video- it would be BLM and Anti-FA would be the Villains. It would show Blacks attacking Innocent Jews and Asians. What I said is not Politically Correct, but it is true.

It was in Holland , one of the more rare/collectible specials singles Dutch Concrete Jungle its got the loafer off Dance Craze on the cover ,300 Quid plus for a decent one .

This is an amusing new melodic version of this song. The last time I heard "you're going home in a f****** ambulance" was whenever we would have a laugh with one of my senior new Teddy Boys prep taker friend, at high school. He would say it whenever we talked about football, and also whenever his team, Colchester United, played any of his lower form friends football team, in the FA Cup, "I'm going to beat you up, if your team wins".

What is shouted at the beginning of the song?
Its the 2 lines:
"You're going home in a fucking ambulance
Cuz you're gonna get your fucking head kicked in"
They just layered the second on top of the first and repeat it. I can't remember if they did it to scuff the expletive for the censors, but I remember them just repeating the two lines back to back in live shows.
