    Man, this is amazing. I still can't believe we live in a time where people can print out action figures without dealing with huge factories.

      I'm thoroughly impressed, and will be getting more of these figures as they come out. Really happy to see this come to life, along with the fact that replacement parts for vintage figures could potentially be printed.

      Part of it man! I have a gun channel as well, but haven’t made any videos for it in a long time. My channel partner switched career paths, and I lost access to new firearms to review.

    That is the same method I put my figures together with, depending on arm peg size and if the torso has odd dimensions.

    so.. when you got those figures, the rivets weren't already in the arms, and if they weren't, did they at least come with the rivets, or did you have to buy those separate also?

    70 bucks a figure. Is the resin tuff? Falling off a shelf do you think they will break? The John J Rambo looks awesome!

    • @TheIslandViper
      @TheIslandViper  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The resin seems tough enough. Depending on the floor surface, I wouldn’t think it would break, but I’m not going to drop one from 6-8 feet to find out. As the technology advances, I’d say we will end up with a lot stronger resins being used for custom items like this. I purchase a kit from elsewhere, for a 6” figure. Dropped a piece from about 3 feet off my work table. It broke, and I had to glue it back together. It was not Gridiron. All resins are not created equal.

    Island viper is it possible to use a resin printed complete figure as a example to talk to an tiy manufacturer. Perhaps they can use the gijoe style 3d printed resin figure to maje a mold so a figure can be mass produced with quality such as 3.75 gijoe figures? I have a Warduke complete with weapons. Ive resrarched it usually costs 5k$ to order an certain amount of figures to be made at one time so its worth it cost wise for manufacturer. With hiw much these rm3d printed wardukes sell for hand painted i garuntee that thus Warduke 3.75 inch gijoe o ring style figure would sell like hot cakes. This was my first ever 3d printed resin figure . The resin although close is great and all but its just not the same it can crack. I ordered 2 figures because i knew that one woupd have a gap somewhere. Well between both wardukes i can use the better ines lehs and yse the too half of other to have zero isdue warduke. Out if both even ones sword hasa bend. Whete im sure a blow dryer could straighten it. But the other is perfect.. Theres already a toy company makeing 3.75 80's 90's o ring gijoes. 5k$ i already have to invest. With no doubt in my mind if i could get some figures made hit up a couple toy shows id instany sell out and have a long list of preorders. Even if it was a company that made off brand gijoes. The fact it was that quality of plastic thats better over resin. Would wrk just fine. Thre figures paint might be biggest concern. (Maybe).

      That’s something you’d probably need to discuss with one of those third party o-ring toy makes we have out there in the market now. I’m sure someone would be willing to help you out with the info you need.

      They seem to be very solid. I'm not really playing with them, but I would assume they would be good to go cost-wise, especially if you're printing yourself.
