- In todays video we feature Mollie, a travel and point of view photographer located in the New Jersey Pine Barrens. The Pine Barrens have been not only been part her family roots and childhood, but her home for the past 25 years. This land carries some of the most nostalgic times of her life and holds stories and memories of the most valuable people, places, and things. Finding a place of sanctuary and security is essential for all of us. Her 2020 Toyota Tacoma TRD Pro is fitted with an Alu Cab Canopy truck camper for safe dry camping. In this video Mollie will give is a full walk through tour of her setup.
This video is dedicated to the memory of Jonathan “John” Scull.

This is a great setup! So organized, full of surprising compartments, has everything you need for comfortable camping. I am really impressed. This young lady has done a great job. My husband loved hiking and camping when younger but I wasn't into the roughing it part. If my husband had this back in the day, we would have been enjoyed the outdoors all the time and traveled.

This is my favorite thus far. I’d buy a second Jackery and charge one off the interior 12v outlet for backup. I love the fact it’s all removable.

Nice! This would have suited me to a T when I was younger. It’s a fantastic rig and she probably has a BLAST. That’s the way to go, imo, where you want (responsibly) and not where the pavement goes. AND it is a better than most rig with a price tag less than some shells. I hope they keep it that way so people can get out there! Thanks Patrick AND today’s tour guide!

I have a similar setup on my 4Runner but without the downstairs-and I have 300 watts of solar and a couple Battleborn batteries for electric and also dual Optima batteries under the hood.Spend about 40 nights a year in it when traveling or on 4WD events.You should get some lithium ion batteries and a solar solution-you will be so much better off.Cheers!

Mollie, can't believe you helped to produce such a great video here! I have viewed this channel quite frequently and many like this. I hope this leads you to explore the idea of developing your own channel of videos. I know you would be super at it. If I were young I would have an active You Tube channel myself.

This style of roof tent is clever. Different than the ones that open sideways. And you don't have exit the vehicle to go in and out, so better in bad weather and safer.

Hey there! Amazing rig can't wait to have my own! Are those stock wheels and suspension or did you have to upgrade them to be able to hold the weight? Is upgrading suspension necessary for the alucab if you're just driving it on highways?
Yes they are but she recently added air bags I believe

Very nice review. So, if a person wanted (or needed) to remove the camper and later re-install how would they do that ? I don't see any outside hardware for attaching jacks. This thing weighs close to 400 pounds with accessories, so it wouldn't be too easy to just 'lift' off. (No grab handles on the exterior)

If they weren't so damned expensive I'd love to get one. I'll likely go with a cheaper option which is a high roof truck bed shell from maybe Leer. Not as nice as one of these but we're talking the difference of more than $10k in many cases.

Beautiful setup. I was thinking about an alucab but am concerned with the weight. There is no way this rig is under it's gvwr. Many of these TH-cam rigs are overweight.

@@NewJerseyOutdoorAdventures I have the 6' bed, so my carrying capacity is 950lbs. With sliders and skids, front bumper and winch, wife and kid, two dogs and gear, there is no way that would work for me. I guess it's the armor making a difference. Your rig is awesome though.

The equivalent of the Hilux in Australia. The main difference we have more engine options and a greater payload capacity. Seems you Americans don’t like diesels. I guess we like going into water more than you guys.
This is a tidy set up. I like the fold out outdoor shower. I’d still be going some sort of solar, even a portable setup. Like I mentioned previously, these and offroad camper trailers are huge here. Many Aussies like to go “off the beaten track” as we say, for days or even weeks at a time. There is the Toyota as well. If then can survive Australia, they will survive the US.
Would love to have one of these in a diesel here
