Something terrible happened while figuring out what tail lights + bumper we should use 😣

- We need to decide what tail lights we should use on the 1959 Volvo. Bad Chad brought in a bunch of different ones from his inventory so we're going to try them all on and see what looks the best. We're going to do the same with the bumper treatment. We have some blades that would be clean and simple or some Jaguar bumpers off a 1959 Jaguar that we could section and make fit. Something terrible happened that really spoiled the moment 😣

My opinion it would look good with two-piece bumper like 70 Camaro
I totally agree or a corvette split bumper would look sweet too
I thought that as well , Pontiac first though
I like the 57 truck but split was first though, using the first damaged one,the rail on top could be shaped matching grill.
Yep
Yea,split bumper ,corner to grill, would look unique
Split bumpers front and back. Look at Volvo P1800 Cyan
I agree
Split would be the way to go
wouldn't have to wrap around the corners
Split Bumper for sure! Leave the grill fully visible, wrap the corners shape 100% agree 👍
Split !!!! 👍👍👍
split bumper would look great on it because of the grill
I had the same thought.
My Two Cents, i think that a split bumper on the front would really accent the grille and head lights. It’s looking good.👍
How about a split bumper?
Was thinking the same..
Absolutely, I was thinking the same thing.
Use te 60s Chrysler Tail lights, and inset them in the fender. I recon that would be cool 😎😎
Don't know why anyone bothers commenting .... CHAD doesn't take any notice of what any person has to say . I've been reading the comments for a long time and many people have been expressing their thoughts and answering what chad has asked for us to comment on and I have never heard chad say someone in the comments section had a good idea ... . So WHY bother because we should all know by now that he doesn't Read at all ... And he has already decided what he is doing.. and nothing any person says is going to change his mind on things .. we should all know that by now !!! .
I think the same ,your are rite
He has taken some comments into consideration several times, infact one was only a few months back, I've been watching and following from the start.
Chad recently cut off the Volvo’s A pillar because of a comments suggestion, but these are his project cars & he’s famous for having his own visions, and plowing ahead regardless of what the peanut gallery chimes in with…🤔
And then you took the time to make a complaint here? How's bout you just sit back relax and enjoy the show, these arm chair warriors, who haven't built a thing in their lives, on here consistently down talking Chad and what he does. The hateful stuff I've read over the years on this channel only portrays your own and their own negative perception of the world amd how they operate in their own lives. Pretty sickening really. Shut your lips and watch the show, you don't like the show, tune out man. It's simple. Take what you will and leave the rest. Maybe start making positive change in your own life, so that your not spreading negative content to the world. Have a blessed night champ.
True 👍
KBS gas tank sealer kit is what I use on new and old tanks. You could de-rust an old tank first with evapo rust or vinegar. The vinegar you got to rinse right away and only keep it in the tank for like a day or two three at most. The evapo rust is a little more maintenance friendly. Then you follow the steps with the KBS kit. Awesome stuff! Can use on the outside roo. Have to work fast with it. I had a few runs in my tank nothing crazy because I didn't work fast enough rolling it around in their. Maybe do a test run with a small kit unlike a lawn mower size tank. It's an epoxy sealer with a hardener and it comes out like concrete glass if that makes sense LOL. I'm talking about integrity and shine. It Will preserve your gas tanks for years to come! Good luck and Volvo is really coming out awesome!
I like it with No bumpers. It looks moore sleek looking
If he keeps that weak-a$$ Volvo engine, it will need all the help it can get to move. 😂
It will only go from one garage to another @@George-tz1cv
The car would look fantastic with the Corvette grill and that big fat chrome bumper and no messing around with the rear end. And yes, that grill is a sword in the eye
Front should be nerf bars, rear should be the one you have setting there now. As for tail lights, use the existing holes, weld a piece of 3" thinwall tube , cut at an angle to match the fender, on inside of fender. Recess in some bullet tail lights, with just the very tips exposed outside the recess. Custom, and old school = perfect!
Agree, nerf bars. Anything else just clutters up the front end.
@@MaximumDogHerder I think nerf bars on front would look great also
Nerf bars were very popular in the 60's and would look great on the old Volvo.
It seems that he’s getting way over his head working alone. Projects are sitting in the bone yard waiting for attention. No staff no progress, wonder if the show will last.
ADHD at its best
They’ve done fairly well so far
Working alone is medication go chad go
To clean diesel off a concrete floor, first absorb the excess diesel with an absorbent material like cat litter, then scrub the area with a mixture of detergent and water, or a paste of baking soda and water, and finally rinse thoroughly with clean water; for stubborn stains, consider using a commercial concrete cleaner designed for oil removal.
yep,we used too use commet and a push broom back in the day.
Mr Chad, I love the Volvo… or whatever you’re going to name it. I remember you all the flack when you started working on it remember when it looked like a Volvo.
Anyway, I want to tell you about your lights I’m looking for lights for the back of my ‘35 Chevy and I ran across this chart that outlines all of the regulations so you can ride legal on the street and pass inspection
I’m gonna try to find a way to pass it on you. It really helped me out a lot because I didn’t know you couldn’t have blue lights and everything else. Lotta crazy laws might as well look into it before anybody buried lights on the car has to change them.
That back bumper looks great!
I just have to comment, I’ve been listening to this guy call these adhesive chrome strips “ bad chad chrome “ . To me it speaks of pure arrogance to take some sort of ownership to somebody else’s product
Hahaha
..i just have to comment. Pull ya head in. Who cares.
That's bad Chad ,takes what you like
Upright nerf bars to fill the gap between headlights and grille, front and rear
The thin ‘blade looks good on front but I like the bumpers low so as not to hide the grill or split and showing the grill in the center. I drove a Volvo just like that when I was in college after saving it from a scrap heap and rescuing it .
I'm thinking the money is going to his head and getting a big ego and show is turning in to a talk show and less building
I had chosen to only have bumpers on the front sides and nothing in the middle. If you want a whole one, it can go down in a V, so that it harmonizes with the grill, but the first bumper, "Chad chrome" fits best, throw away the rest. At the back, it works with a full bumper, but it would be cool with a Continental kit with wheels, (24:49) as the trunk sits so high. Maybe too much work, but still cool. Otherwise, the blue would have gone best with the first Chad chrome up there. When it comes to taillights, I think the original PV taillights fit the best, out of the ones you showed. Good luck to Chad & Jolene and Fina 😎👍
Nurf bars one on each side straight up and down
Don't need a bumper never will be finished
The slimmer Crome bumper looks best for the front!
What about putting a little chrome blade on each side and leave the middle open?
Jimbo has been replacing his roof alone for months! At his age! You'd think his mates would have given him a hand! Chad not to be seen anywhere! Now Chad has nobody working for him! because they QUIT! He suddenly wants Jimbo back around to do labour and help! Couldn't make it up! Absolutely disgusting
Did they quit? I must have missed that episode
@@michaelmorris5945 yes they QUIT . Most people know that .
I agree !!! It's very obvious isn't it .. sad but true 😞
Chad rather use his friends for his needs not helping them with things wouldn't call him a good friend just someone that gets what he can out of people
I haven't watched much lately did not know that. When was this@Rob1970s
Bad Chad stickable bumper " that's a good one
That simple blade on the front looks really good!
We all have visions of the nicest things whether its girls motorcycle, cars , trucks and so on. I've been fortunate enough to have been asked to build everything with wheels on it. Inexpensive to rare and exotic. I've met Gene Winfield, Joe Bailon was a neighbor, the Barris Brothers went to the High School down In Sacramento .
They would tell me and I'll tell you what you're already heard. Build it . Every one has opinions just like A holes. Who cares what they think . Are they paying you? No.
Chad Keep on doing what you FEEL man. I get your approach. If there was chrome sticky molding available back in the early days of customizing Chad they would have put a trick spin on things using it too ! No doubt Brother! Dust em off your shoulders. Anyone can talk all day ,its easy. To me your doing just fine.
If his techniques and finishes do not evolve then people will get bored with the outcome of his work and move on to another channel. The life cycle of TH-cam is evolve or become irrelevant. There are other options for fake chrome finishes.
@@murfreeA So you are saying you are a YT expert and knows what works and don't work? and telling them how to run their business.
A split bumper, thin blades would look nice. That back bumper you like looks great.
Your cars are looking spectacular and your family works hard and invests well! Wishing your family the best going into these holidays!
Bad Chad and queen Jolene you are doing a wonderful job.👀👍🏾
If you go Jag bumper on rear - then also use Jag bumper on front. To harmonize the look.
You would of had a hand if you wouldn't of run everyone away!
Chad, Jolene, & fina, how about the bumpers off the car you took the tail lamps off of. I know the rear bumper was there what about the front one? Then you would have a matched set of bumpers if they fit. I would probably stick with the factory t/lamps on this one since they are the best fit. Jolene great job as always on the video and production work.
Split bumper, but it's your car so what you like is what you want to go with, I prefer the Volvo tail lights as you said in your video it gives the car extra length.
Jaguar bumper looked to be just the right length. Sticking out just enough to protect the fenders.
Every time is better than the last. You’re unstoppable!
split bumper to show the grill, dont hide the bottom of grill
Front split bumper. Otherwise, you hide the grill.
I like the thin blade bumper the best.fits the front really good
Trisodium phosphate (TSP)as. A paste, I use to pull oil out of concrete! Works great!
Maybe a split bumper like on a Corvette..I don't remember the year but I know there were one or two years where Corvette had a split bumper..I think it would really look great on the Volvo..but Chads the designer..so far he's really come up with some fantastic ideas
Starting to make it look like the brown sled you just finished 😂
My Vote.....is....... the wrap around rear bumper and the wrap around taillights.( loke the old Mercury lead sleds)
The ribbed bumper in front . The one you had that went around it so nice in the back. Bad Chad chrome ribbed on back bumper. They match the hubcap . My idea is the break lights . The big v lights, French them in the middle, above the finder half out on side half in the middle panel.
I would go with the original Volvo rear lights. 😎👍 They fit perfectly on the fender and look good with the new shape of the rear end.
In the past few days I suggested a two-piece front bumper, but I have to admit that the car looks good without a bumper..
Just want to say hi to you all and Chad I say do it your way for you are the only one who has to be satisfied with what you are doing. God bless and have a blessed evening and night
Chad use the '49-50 Merc taillights horizontally and french them into the fenders, also use the Jaguar rear bumper but if you look at it it is straight and the rear trunk area comes to a point in the center split and bend the bumper so it conforms to the rear of the car. I think that would give it a real custom look! Or should it be "KUSTOM" Well Chad that's my 2cents worth of ideas's.
Considering the tail bumper is hugged so close to the body that it seems like part of the body, i think the front could do without a bumper at all and not be missed esthetically - especially since the grill is so low on the front that a bumper will hide it which ruins the design of it. Consider leaving it as is Chad. 41:30 looks sweet to me man. Also kind of gives it a modern interpretation of the classic car.
I know how you feel breaking stuff like that lens. I knocked a hammer off a bench smashing a Lucas King of the Road driving light. Being Lucas it probably wouldn't have worked anyway. So as they say in your neck of the woods - no harm no foul. Jolene seemed more upset than you!
It's Monday. Go BAD CHAD AND JOLENE
My old car was very bad the fuel turned to something like gasket sealer. I was able to get most of it out then I bought a product that you can pour
into the tank and it sealed any leaks up. You put it in the tank and slosh it around.
I would love to see Jim come to the shop. Always enjoy his commentary.
That stripeing looking 1 u fitter at 16min 40. It matches the wheels bro and suits the car. You just need 1 for front and back compliments all ure hard work. Aswell the V shape lights would look the awsome too. You need to sink them into the arch more with having all the extra space I side there. And with all the hard work fabricating this motor. Adding then lights would be an edition to you're hard work ❤
SCOTLAND SHOWT OUT 😅😅
I LOVE the 55 bumper in the V shape!
It would look fantastic sitting on the bottom of a lake somewhere preferably a salt one
Move along
Forge paint match almost flawless! If you never told anyone that you had touched it up they would never know it! I’ve always heard that black and silver are the worst two paints to try and match.
wrong type of grill and lights if you want to fit a front bumper like those
I will leave it like it is, looks cool with no bumper
Chad I’m loving what you have done with the front lights once again amazing work and definitely use the Jag bumpers and original rear lights 😁
Amazing work and please don’t stop being you 👍
Dave in Manchester England
Can I have a shout out 😁
Them 49 Mercury tail lights are going for $250 to $600 on eBay you got there Chad wow with pitted chrome and all there like gold
Small pointed turn signals on front to fill space between grill and headlamp perhaps?
I like the jag bumpers with the original tail lights.
Whichever way is sure to be great, go for it.
"We don't need no stinkin' bumpers!"
I like the look of wrap around bumpers and the original tail lights
I can’t believe some of the comments you get Chad , some people are just downright ignorant, I wouldn’t want any of them in my life.
Keep on trucking man.❤️😎🇨🇦✅👀
Chad I would really like to see jimbo come work with you he would of been the one I would of had working with me in the first place he loves to talk and you guys really make him happy he did his whole roof on his house he is a hard working guy I think jimbo would be happy and we can all see him again
The bumper with the Bad Chad chrome matches the wheel centres.
Personally prefer the Volvo taillights. It would be nice to see the original bumpers taken apart and used as a split bumper.
why not just use spray chrome on bumper
Surely the spare tyre separate's from it's mounting bracket , making thing's a whole lot easier ??
The ‘Bad Chad flexible chrome’ might look good in photos and video but looks cheap in person. The rear wrap around bumper, blade style, will look good as long as the flex chrome is deleted.
hopefully your friendship with dough , isn't broken , you can fix't ,best wishes to all
My brother and I used 1952 Buick tail lights on our 1949 Mercury lead sled. We Frenched them into the fenders slightly to add a little more custom look. If you can find them, it would be a perfect match.
The blade isn’t bad. It looks good too. The one you just cleaned the truck bumper looks good too.
How about no bumpers ? I mean it’s not like it’s going to be driven much !
Yes, remove the bumper, spare tire mount, spreader bar and rear pan.. Make sure you disconnect the Fuel Lines first (This panel is located under the rear seat )
You could put chrome headed bolts in those holes in the original bumper and save yourself a lot of grief and have one that looks ‘the part’. And if you decided to put a couple of those standup lights you were speaking of that resemble motorcycle signals, you wouldn’t have to drill anything.
Front bumper on Volvo, I think it would look best not to cover that grill. Bumper from side to edge of grill ( split bumper look)
Cutting corners and being cheap starts to show and its not in a good way.
Grill is killing the whole vibe
Csnt wait for Push Ups
Grill is horrible.
That 55 Chevy bumper looks real good as you held it up to the car.
A split bumper gets my vote. Looking good.
Like the ford bumper. It’s clean and appears to fit the front end design .
The 1955 truck bumper looks good and makes the car look bigger
can you make the bumper not hide the bottom of the grill ?
I like the blades. I would split the front bumper to highlight the grill. Original tail lights. Great video.
Corvette split bumpers
I like the big 55 Chevy truck bumper maybe cut it in two to avoid the Grill that you put on another fine job Chad and Jolene keep on going brother
It will look good with a wood 2x6 stained dark brown
Smashed the taili light because you let yourself get side-tracked instead of sticking to one thing.
Keep the rear clean, if your undecided put lights in the bumper.
The workout sesion at the end needs some more exercises added---can you do some jumping jacks and sit-ups ?
As far as I can tell it's vinegar water 12 volt to 48 volt power source tank and nickel anode. I bet Jolene could pull it off no trouble. how to do it is all over TH-cam people do small parts on the kitchen counter
I like the last bumper for the front because that one doesn't cover the grill.
Chad, I really think you should consider extending the hood forward to the front end and make it more V shape like the grill.
I would agree that a two-piece bumper would look the best.
the chevy '55 in the front and the lil thin blade in the back would look rad! 😎
You will figure it out chad
Split bumper on the front to show the full grill off. 👍🏽
I like the slim clean bumper, it does not compete with the grille.
I vote for the simple blade/ front bumper
