  • Wheel Horse 520 blowing snow with 2 stage blower. I know snow does not look deep but it is basically ice crystals covered with a sheet of ice. Blower handled it with ease.
    Auger was hitting a bolt but that has been repaired.

    I have this 44 inch 2 stage on my 312-8
    Just blew 9 inches wet heavy snow in Ct
    Motor was great but the 3 series frame is a bit small for this.

    A snowblower is the best shovel any man could ever have.
    I have a two stage snowblower attachment for my Toro 522xi garden tractor but I’ve never installed it. It’s really heavy and I don’t have anyone to help put the monster on.

      You could rent an engine hoist to pick it up and position it. Not just for car engines!

      I have an engine hoist. The #79366 5xi 44” 2 stage snowblower is 350 pounds so I bought a 79365 5xi 42” 1 stage snowblower then I traded the 44” for a 5xi 60” deck which I sold last spring. I have a 2nd 79365 that was abused which I’ve been saving to adapt one of my Berco 40” snowblowers to. The 79366 is a monster to move around.

    I'm in the process of buying a used Wheel Horse tractor from a mechanic. It doesn't cut grass but rather it's setup as a snow blower machine with a covered cab, wheel weights and chains with a snow blower attached in the front with a 47" width. Once up and down my long driveway and I'm back in the house again. I'm wondering if I'll need to do maintenance any differently with this as a dedicated snow machine besides #2 grease and non-ethanol gas? Couldn't get the exact model from where the machine was situated.
    After watching this video you should really look into getting the full cover for the driver. It makes a big difference.

    Do you have any weights on your machine? Rear wheel weights and added rear weights will give you more bite when you drive.

      +Jesse Heilman - Depend on the driveway. If you have rocks on your driveway, you have to raise as high as you can. It's better to leave 1-2 inches off the ground and let the Sun melt it. Hitting those Gravel / Rocks is bad for your Blower :((((

    • @MustangsTrainsMowers

      And let the driveway build up a layer of hard pack snow to keep it above the rocks.

    why do you have the blower so high up that its not clearing all the snow?

    Is the blower better than the plow?

    • @JodBronson
      @JodBronson 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Blake Thompson - For my case yup! Blower can go with some " freezing / ice " snow. But for the Plow, you have to plow bigger space than you will need. If it snow again and the older snow is iced / frozen.... There is no way you can use the plow :(((. Although the plow is quicker... But it sucks when it freezes or iced up :(((.

    • @JodBronson
      @JodBronson 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Blake Thompson - By the way, if you have Rocks / Gravel on your driveway..., Snow Blower is the only choice. The Plow will mess up your driveway if it's uneven or Rocks / Gravel will be in a pile, LOL. With the Blower, you raise about 1-2 inches off of the ground. Let the Sun melt the rest or Rocks / Gravel will be shooting all over the place and damaging your Blower too.

      Just carry the plow 1 - 2 inches above the ground and it will work fine!
