Thank you Jaren, Benson and Cooper for an awesome day getting to nerd out on my childhood hobby. I am beyond inspired of all the hard work that continues to go into this park. Keep doing what you all do!
This is honestly amazing seeing a man with a dream and bring it to life with a community to back it, more power to him and hella kudos for just doing the damn thing
When I was like 11 or 12 I used to make old action figures I had skate with fingerboards. They all had their own style and I would build some pretty elaborate spots. Kid imagination is rad
The "undisclosed location" is behind Restaurant Depot in Maspeth Queens, overlooking Newtown Creek, the most-polluted body of water in the USA. It's a fantastic spot, I've filmed there when I made the very first classic-Jaguar-in-NYC video on my channel.
soo doooppe! weve been building replica parks in the NorCal area for about 4 years now, hosting pop up events at skateparks and growing our local scene, so its so sick to see other communities build their DIYS and share the FB Culture! This is definitely a bucket list trip to visit and sesh, hopefully one day!
I’m happy fingerboarding is finally earning some respect. I’ve been fingerboarding like most of my life but actually at a hobby level for like 12ish years now and it’s come and gone from my life but the future looks bright which makes me stoked!
I live in MI and we get pretty heavy winters up here. When I can’t skate I’m fingerboarding, it really does fill a little part of that gap during the 5 month span of the no skating winter hell.
I'm from south central Indiana and in the mid 2000's when I was in 2nd grade I can remember my day one friend and I fingerboarding, scootering, and BMXing during reccess. By 5th grade Techdecks had became so popular that kids started selling them to eachother for quarters and the school had to "ban" techdecks. Fast forward to my 27th birthday (this year) my brother bought me a pack of 10 techdecks and I said "ha! thanks brother, I love these I probably play with one now and again."...Except a week later I was scheduled for surgery on my lower back, so it was difficult to sit for about a month1/2. I stood in my kitchen and techdecked the whole time- now I'm onto real fingerboard brands. I love this crafty hobby. (If you read all this- u r awesome, shred, build, glhf,
Insane spot and a super cool video! Me as a professional fingerboarder I’m so happy to see things like this; I always think why fingerboarding is not as common for skateboarders, whenever I’m not skating I’m fingerboarding. That actually make my brain think and do more skate stuff : same movements, foot position, grinding, filming, editing, etc... and a lot of times I learned skate tricks because of fingerboarding, I think that is INSANE. Fingerboarding is like a whole art that has a ton to do with it, it’s infinite as skateboarding!
Fingerboarding is definitely an extension for my love of Skateboarding. I think most skaters Fingerboard/TechDeck or enjoy Fingerboarding but its not exactly cool to admit it. Bust one out a skatepark or skatespot while everyone is chilling and other skaters will jump in and have a go.
Thats rad af. Watched this with Chris Kraft and Martin Ehrenberger together. Thanks Jenkemmag for this one, you guys should come to germany to see skate and fingerboarding scene here. ✌🏻
I, personally, love this type of content. The amount of just tech deck products I have in my possession from over two decades ago is insane. I would travel to every Wal-Mart withn a fifty mile radius just to buy every tech deck I didn't own. And don't get me started on my park collection...
BIG UP BROOKLYN CREW!!! MUCH FB LOVE COMIN AT YA DIRECT FROM OAKTOWN CALIFORNIA!!! Fb saved my mental life. Skating for 25+ years and i broke my leg 2 years ago, picked up a fingerboard during the recovery and fell in love with it and grew a different perspective to skateboarding and approaching tricks. Its the bees knees
this is so sick. love that park in brooklyn. i remember 50/50 down the rainbow rail at 1:12 one time and being so excited lol. i have to see the secret fingerboard park next time i'm there
You know one big thing no one said why they love finger boarding so much is, it’s imagination aspect to it* It’s all about imagination when you finger board
Yo!! I used to always fingerboard at Turntablelab HQ back in the heyday in Brooklyn. Ask the other Michna about it. He actually has some old clips of it somewhere too. And "fingerboard tourist" is THE best title for that dude. This video is awesome, BTW!!
I remember cutting credit cards in half and bending the nose/tail and making ledges out of notebooks/textbooks back before there was fingerboards. Looks so cool
Fuckin dope it really never gets old ....my brother always said your going to be 40 and still playing with fingerboards im 35 and still dabble a couple times a year
They need to add another slab and make it to where you can walk through widish walkways and jump from essentially cube to cube via doing a sick bump or moving if one would rather do such instead.
I remember getting pretty good with fingerboards and trying to record tricks with a camcorder and being annoyed that the movements were too quick to effectively capture on video. itd be cool to see a fingerboarding video that is recorded on a high frame rate camera
So sick!! Thanks for the shoutout ❤ that spot looks awesome!
It really cant be overstated how important Mike has been to the North American scene.
fr tho mike is a whole ass w @@Hartwell10
Love you Mikey poo 🥰
Thank you for all that you do Mike! Huge inspiration to modern fingerboarding.
you the Tony Hawk of Fingerboarding
Jenkem continues to have the best insights into the culture of skateboarding, please never stop! Kudos to those dudes for making the scene happen
Jenkem never miss🍻

Where is the park exactly
Thank you Jaren, Benson and Cooper for an awesome day getting to nerd out on my childhood hobby. I am beyond inspired of all the hard work that continues to go into this park. Keep doing what you all do!

Hell yes! So stoked to see fingerboarding in this light!
This is wild 😂
Fingerboarding really is something everyone does but doesnt talk about
Fr bro, there are some big youtubers and celebrities who fuck with fingerboarding
Very similar to masturbation.
@@RufusdosAnd both will leave you sticky and deflated.
Because actually going out n skating is wayyy better than using your hand to get the thrill 😂 yanno?

@@lntrlp4936yeah go back to crying about how trump is “totally not losing.”
Fingerboarding rocks! Thanks for featuring the hobby Jenkem! Also, that DIY looks so sick, need to visit one day
I just think that they like skateboarding so much that they fingerboard to fill in the gaps of time they’re not skating
I live in MI and we get pretty heavy winters up here. When I can’t skate I’m fingerboarding, it really does fill a little part of that gap during the 5 month span of the no skating winter hell.
It's like an itch that needs to be scratched. It's similar to playing Skateboarding games.
I fingerboard only exclusively.

This is awesome! So much better than the paper and notecard park I had on my desk in the early 2000s
Great video, thanks for sharing something about our hobby and passion. Especially on one of my favorite channels, JENKEM!!!!

That’s kinda sad
@@SixOhFive And what's your hobby, bigshot lol I did plenty well
@@ilikemyowncomments9065no he means it’s sad you waste money on techdeck instead of real fingerboards.

So sick! Going to build something like this in Sheffield, here in the UK, real soon.
That's so rad! I love it. I used to have a tech deck half pipe and a little fun box thing with stairs and a rail.
Being a 2000s fingerboarder from europe myself, this warms my heart!
It's so dope you covered this

jenkem coming up with the goods once again
Ronnie Creager had some good stuff on his day in life 1999. We used to make boards from plexiglass or plastic rulers back in the day.
Jenkem is for the culture!!!!
Fingerboarding for Life! 🔥 Thank you Jenkem! ❤
man this is somethin else!!! amazing works!
Great video, and that park is fireeeee !!!
more wholesome jenkem content yess
seeing people take pride will never not be cool! power to the finger boarders man
YES, I love finger of fury. I used to own the vhs. And I was happy to see it was uploaded to TH-cam when I searched a year ago. 🤝🎉
Jaren is such a great guy love his fb videos
I literally have my own DIY fingerboard park so big ups I love seeing stuff like this

Mike Schneider is a goat of youtube fingerboarding and product
Jaren looks like Andy Samberg if he did skating instead of acting. Awesome video!
Opus 0 Alexis milant video was always my favorite. The simplicity the Sounds on obstacles. One of the most well put together finger parts
Alexis Milant had fucked up levels of steeze way too early. Those europeans man
the amount of tech decks we all had taken away by teachers in early school... lol
What's the song at 1:05ish?
fingers of fury was what got me into fingerboarding legendary to see him mention this in the video! haha sick!!
Damn this is so cool!
I lived in nyc for a decade and never heard about this place. Definitely visiting next time
Yooo those paintings in the back were crazy. Seeing Goku made me wanna go super Saiyan with the tech deck
scene is now amazing, people recognize each other around the whole world! :)
So dope!! More niche stories like this
Absolutely loved this
Fingers of fury was a great video! Miss the good old days!
this was so awesome, I wanted to keep watching more
max palmer and nely morville and city of caterpillar shirt and fingeboarding this video is fire
Can anyone drop the addy, I really want to go to get some clips in
I remember cutting credit cards in half and bending the nose/tail and making ledges out of notebooks/textbooks back before there was fingerboards. Looks so cool
I love the diy aspect of it, stuff like the little stairset model he made out of wood is so clever.
def will peep this next month!
Thot u meant _the video_ itself at first lol😂 like “damn, mans has impressive self restraint! would _hate_ to see _their_ Watch Later list”
i want a max palmer fountain spot replica ASAP
This is rad; makes me proud of my little DIY finger park on my office desk, next to my (but out of Zoom view) of my work computer!
I do any skating or boarding at all, but this is freaking awesome!
Can u tell me the exact location? I want to go there
Fingerboarding is a way for skaters to continue skating when they physically can't anymore, me included 😂
Right when I leave NY y’all build this! I’m getting my black clothes out… hang on.. I’ll brb
I’m so glad mike Schneider was mentioned that was like part of my childhood
I didn't know you were tapped in like that. Still waiting for my Jambi challenge submission to be reviewed B^)

are handboards at the fingerboard park the equivalent to bmx at the skatepark?
They have Finger Scooters 🤷♂

Insane. I remember playing with these in Jr High or earlier back in like 97-98 😂
This is great !
Woulda loved to see the finish pour from the wood form! Or do they leave the wood on?
