The S-Zero is pretty stripped out and lightweight like the NSX-R, but it is NA2 so incorporates those improvements. The suspension uses NSX-R springs and dampers, but the rear sway bar is the larger one from the Type-S so it is more tail happy. This makes it harder to put down power on corner exits, as they comment in the video.
@Lyndaporvida basic differences are - 1st gen NSX type R uses a 3.0L engine with 5speed gear box whereas S-zero using a 3.2L with 6 speed box - if memory serves right type R is also lighter as well
S zero is really great... but this is a comparison between the NA1 3.0 NSX-R and the 3.2 NA2 S Zero... if the R was the 3.2 NA2 the S Zero couldn't stand a chance... Despite the NA2 R being faster , I still prefer the S Zero, just for the styling and that awesomeee steering wheel! Really gorgeous!
@Aztech355 because pre-2008...there was a gentlemen's agreement between all Japanese auto makes, states that for all domestic model that they make, they should stick within the 280hp/180km/h max speed limit...and i believe in the late 90s, the USDM 3.2L NSX were pulling some 290hp... after 2008, where the R35 GTR made its debut, w/ it's 480+hp it clearly shows they no longer care/bonded with that 280hp/180km/h limit... cheerios
I would go with the s zero , would love to see a video with alex zenardi nsx vs s zero.. s zero pulled 12.47 1320 that's impressive for 250whp or so would love to see some modern 1/4 mile pulls as well
@Aztech355 if Senna's still around it might not discontinue this early...but let's face it, at that price range(approx 120000usd), there are quite a lot of supercar selection w/ more power and some cost less - ie, porsche 911, corvette, etc and even with the facelift done @ 2001/02, the changes weren't that significant and impressive...so even honda did put a lot of innovations n technology thru all these years, but w/ less power, that made the NSX losting its appeal against rivals
I want one :D.. 6 MT Type Zero// pop up headlamps.. lightweight 18inch rims.. Graphite Silver with black roof and black rear spoiler. Grey Connolly leather with red piping/red carpet. Yummmie :D
Aztech355 it was allegedly a gentlemen’s agreement for the Japanese automotive companies to keep the power under 300 horses so that it doesn’t become the power greedy competition like it is today .
depends on what year u buy the NSX. 1991 NSX cost about $25,000 so just build up from there. If the GTR now is 6 speed manual ill prolly buy that instead... but they put this new shifter which really sucks ass
zanardi edition is a type s minus the 1 piece ricaro seats so it will be heavier. the type s zero goes even further with the weight reduction. no radio, a/c etc.
I named my company S.Zero Group not after this car. I heard of this car in 2012 but I forgot about it. In 2013 I established the S.Zero Group. The S is Super. The name Zero originated from a tuning shop in Wangan Midnight. I came up with Super from Super GT. So I say this car signifies the S.Zero Group. S.Zero is now mainly a joint Detail and Car Service Repair Shop but originated as a Go-Kart and Motorsports Racing Club. These departments signify why it is called S.Zero Group. As this car is turned 20 Years old, I like to honour this car and say this car is the Spirit and soul of the S.Zero Group.
The Japanese know how to make a car comparison video. They are the best. I just wish there were subtitles.

@EJ255BL9
Thanks for the info I'm disappointed that the NSX was discontinued. If Aryton Senna was still around it would have been even better.
Such a beautiful distinct sounding car.
I didn't realise that the NSX had such a massive tachometer ;-)
@Aztech355 because pre-2008...there was a gentlemen's agreement between all Japanese auto makes, states that for all domestic model that they make, they should stick within the 280hp/180km/h max speed limit...and i believe in the late 90s, the USDM 3.2L NSX were pulling some 290hp...

It's not the angle of the corner, it is the radius of the corner.
The value in 200R, 130R etc is the radius of the corner in metres I think.

@nitrousboy0311 Actually I thought the guy in front in the orange took a strange line through the S corners.
I want one :D.. 6 MT Type Zero// pop up headlamps.. lightweight 18inch rims.. Graphite Silver with black roof and black rear spoiler.
Grey Connolly leather with red piping/red carpet.
Yummmie :D
there was nothing in that the whole way, but watching that it seemed like the NSX-R was just a little more settled through corners.
yep, NA2 type R does not have retractable headlights. NA1 Type R is a rear machine but S Zero is better overal car imho
2 nsx in suzuka what else you want !
@EJ255BL9
Thank you for the comment.
s zeroのホイールが好き
How is it that the type R is slower in the straights despite the fact that it's lighter? Is it because of gearing?
素晴らしい走り!!
Those are the biggest tachometers I’ve ever seen!!!
So whats the difference between S Zero and Type-R? They both look identical and look like they handle the same....
@EJ255BL9
My question is why did Honda choose to have under 300HP for the NSX?
Aztech355 it was allegedly a gentlemen’s agreement for the Japanese automotive companies to keep the power under 300 horses so that it doesn’t become the power greedy competition like it is today .
Is it not the radius of the corner?
how much is it for one of those cars?
Nowadays it'll run you about 50-80 depending on model/condition
@@wileyeyefloaty665 They're crazy expensive in Australia now, starting at approx 115k USD 😭
A type R or Type S are significantly more expensive too
One Type R sold over $1mil
Shiiiiit.
the r is faster in turns but the s is faster in straight and since the finish line is on a straight path the s won....simple
It was an Na2? That all makes sense then....
@EJ255BL9
I agree.
thrilling video
What is different about the Type-S Zero?
3:24 is very cool.
oh. if it has the same amount of power as other cars, it wins cuz it handles so good.
depends on what year u buy the NSX. 1991 NSX cost about $25,000 so just build up from there. If the GTR now is 6 speed manual ill prolly buy that instead... but they put this new shifter which really sucks ass
Those 3 people breeded two more.. 5 people now....
nsx-s-zero, or -.5 seconds and air conditioning? i can't choose! :P
🏁🇯🇵
@supertrex2
lol very cheap,but they are nice
ok. the R is slower on the straightaway..
Mod? totalled $95,000 not including labor,
NSX S-Zero = USDM NSX Zanardi edition?
+frostydc4 They are similair, but the S-Zero has recaro bucket seats, Momo steering wheel, Type-R suspension and is a lot lighter.
zanardi edition is a type s minus the 1 piece ricaro seats so it will be heavier. the type s zero goes even further with the weight reduction. no radio, a/c etc.
susoension, weight ,etc. not engine
やっぱRはコーナーが早い!
the s zero is the fastest nsx stock.
also engine
タイムはrのほうが速いんだ

*Spoiler NSX win*
