I do love your videos. I want to thank you for not having a 14-minute intro! Some of the people out there seem to give an intro that says absolutely nothing for too long of a time. Yes it looks good but what people like me want is the meat of the subject. You do that better than anybody out there. So thank you.
I've always had good results with spectracide products... I used the granular weed stop for lawns. Anyway your lawn is looking great. Thanks for the update.
Very informative and professional videos!! It's easy to understand you without all the gimmicks and background effects most videos have on here. Thanks again you're my favorite lawn channel!
The length is fine LA you gave us alot of useful information!! Thanks for putting a spotlight on the ladies cuz we’re definitely out here too and the warmer it gets everyone will be outside the noise is understandable u were loud and clear thanks!! 🙏🏾
This is a great video and I am about to head out and use the non-selective grass and weed killer in the landscaping areas of my yard. Also, will be using it along the separate areas of my driveway. Thanks for this great video it is very informative.
Bro loo at how green your lawn is. You guys are getting rain up north? We are getting hammered with ZERO rain in Baltimore. My grass looks like late July!?!?!
I like the premixed for quick sprays but when i have to spray all my mulched areas and rocky areas, i use concentrates because they're much cheaper. It's rained a coyple of days so the weeds are popping up everywhere and I'll have to spray about 4 gallons.
There are some places in my lawn that I am not sure if they're full of weeds or just a different type of grass. For the most part I'm looking to have only and call fescue. My question is can I use the selective herbicide on my lawn and let the selective herbicide decide if it is a weed or not? Would that work? Your videos are among the best. They are easy to understand and you seem approachable. I do appreciate that. So thank you for having your videos out there on TH-cam. Please keep it up.
Yes that is one way to test it out spray the selective herbicide on the part you're not sure about and if it die it wasn't grass. I'm glad you enjoy my videos and that they're easy to understand. Thank you for your support I appreciate it
Thank you! I thought spectracide had changed formulas or something. Lol. It's that I grabbed the wrong bottle. Then I couldn't figure out why things didn't die.
If you're overseeding don't spray the weed killer because it'll kill the new seed or grass. Wait until you mowed the lawn and new grass atleast 3x before treating for weeds. But if the grass is already established yes you can fertilize and spray the orange top
Can I do a blanket spray of the hose spray bottle of Weed Stop and apply Milorganite fertilizer the same day, on tall fescue lawn? If so, which one should I apply first?
Sadly spectracide has done away with the extended control grass and weed killer and replaced it with one shot I got excellent control with the grass and weed killer extended control but the one shot doesn't have the same ingredients so I'm not sure how well it will work. I need to cover large areas around the fence, my shed, my mobile home and some other areas. Any suggestions
That's interesting. Is the white bottle weed and grass killer spectracide still available? Because that one work just as good only thing it's does have the extended control
Great question I use this product because it cheap and easy to go and pick up in the store the same day if you need a weed killer right now. Tenacity is great and I've used it in the past but most people see the price of tenacity and get discouraged so I'm showing alternative options something everyone can use and feel comfortable spending their hard earned money on.
@@brendasneddon8347 Bioadvanced has triclopyr. I don't think you're going to find a selective herbicide that'll kill trumpet vine in grass without harming the grass.
I would stay far away from anyone that thinks or claims to be a pro. I won’t even tell you the things that professionals like trugreen have done to my lawn and to themselves not wearing ppe gear. Landscapers mowing with dull blades, over-seeding with zoysia seed in northeast , putting perennial Rye in st Augustine and having grass attack each other. You name it , I have seen it done by “professionals” 🤣 I had some that actually didn’t know the perennial rye will put out a toxin in diameter to protect itself from certain invading grass types. I am a tax attorney not a landscaper and I learned mostly from research and costly errors . I don’t judge anyone !!
Wow unbelievable. Sharp blades are a must smh. I can believe someone would try to overseed with zoysia grass seed in the northeast thats a first lol 🤦🏾♂️. Alot of the so call professionals try to cut corners and cut cost but cheat the paying customer in the process and thats not right on so many levels. @@LawnAmateur yes I think many do know better but try to pinch Pennys at the cost of service. I used to have a few companies do my landscaping but gave up and started myself and found I loved it !

With the orange cap one, can i spray that before, during, or after adding fertilizer or overseeding?

You can. Apply the milorganite first then blanket spray
I really appreciate your quick response and guidance, sir! Thank you.

Maybe i missed it, but why did the orange cap kill your grass on that small spot? I thought that one was fine for grass.
That was a big clump of weeds in that spot. The grass was fine
What if you have black top and it stops spraying? It doesn’t have a pump. How do I troubleshoot?
Check inside the bottle, the siphon straw may have come unattached

Can't use the orange top in Texas. The quinclorac in it is banned.
That sucks
Will orange top version klll Trumpet Vine in grass listed?
@brendasneddon8347 No, you'll need glysophate or triclopyr

I have tried the white bottle and it doesn't seem to work as well or last as long. I don't think the ingredients are exactly the same
Yea the black bottle was stronger
Walmart has one called weed and grass killer extended action it's supposed to be the same as the spectracide look for that one
How does one find out what type of grass they have? I have no clue. I'm in Virginia. Please help🙁
More than likely you have a cool season lawn that consist of ryegrass, Kentucky bluegrass, and fescue.
@@LawnAmateur ok, thanks! So, it's ok for me to use the one with orange top to treat the weeds?
Yes its fine
What fertilizer you use?
I was using Scotts lawn food fertilizer
Yeah what happens if you don't know what type of grass you got
Do a little research first. Normally grass type go off what climate you live in Cool Season or warm season
Is there a website or possible app to find out what kind of grass I have in my backyard? Thanks!
