Hey man I never would've had the confidence to cut this bearing off without watching your video. I did it today and it went way better than I had anticipated. I cut within about a 1/16" of the axle with a grinder and a couple taps with a coal chisel cracked it right open! Much appreciation for you!!

Thank you for the video, it helped a great deal, especially cutting off the center support bearing, mine was totally trashed - first time using a grinder - thank you also to DE Walt - great tool.

Thanks for showing us DIYers that it can be done without fancy presses. You made it look really easy and I now feel more confident about cutting it off.

Your video was awesome. Exactly what I needed for my 2002 1500HD. I tried pulling the old bearing with a bearing puller. After an hour of fighting it I gave up. Attacked it with my grinder. Worked like a charm. The bearing set with the 1 3/4 pipe was perfect. THANKS

Thanks for the video. Literally just got done doing this. I even bought the exhaust pipe but the 12". Worked like a charm. My truck had been making a squealing noise for a year and was able to narrow it down to either u joints or the support bearing. So I bought all 3 u joints and the center support bearing. Pulled driveshaft and all my u joints were good. Bearing rubber was deteriorated and bearing itself felt a little wonky but not gritty like a typical bad bearing. But I replaced it and no more squealing so far. :)

Good job taking the time to experiment and share your video, one thing I don't recommend is taking the guard off the grinder, when you do that you're putting your self at risk, you could cut yourself with the exposed area of the cut off wheel that goes toward your hands.
Especially for those who aren't familiar with grinders, it's better and safer to use a dremel with a cut off wheel its safer and smaller, It will not cut your drive line and or your fingers.. Good job tough.
