- This Pale Morning Comparadun dry fly demonstrates a little different technique for the regular comparadun wing. This technique results in a slimmer abdomen and greater buoyancy. It's also an extremely effective pattern for a Heptagenia sulpherea dun.

Gosh, that trick with the tag of tying thread to split the tails is gold.
Thanks Blake, if you would like to learn more tricks: www.amazon.com/s?k=barry+ord+clarke&crid=2N4O9UMJCI3JQ&sprefix=barry+ord%2Caps%2C212&ref=nb_sb_ss_ts-doa-p_2_9
Great tie, Barry.
Thank you Kindly James.
Your wing has such excellent evenness of the fiber density.. Nice work. Really great looking fly!
Thanks Gary.
Late to see this, but i just used the tag trick and now i will only be doing them this way. Thank you!
Excellent Tyler, pleased that it helped.
Love the “lions mane” hair wing, gorgeous pattern and great tie as always. L 👍👍

Absolutely beautiful Barry.great looking pattern as always you do.tja la for sharing!!
Many thanks Mike.
Picture perfect comparadun Barry! Comparaduns and Haystacks were the first dries I tied before I figured out the hackle "game". I'll be tying them like you did here... or at least try too ;o) Thanks!
Thanks Joe, good luck with them.

Always welcome Jimmy.
Yesterday there was a pmd emergence on my home water. Trout rising to eat mayflies everywhere. It was a nightmare because I was only getting stupid fish to hit my flies. I used duns, cripples, soft hackles fished in the film and I even got desperate and tried spinner patterns. The trout were definitely taking the mayflies once they were on the surface or right under it at least. For whatever reason, the mayflies were slow to take off from the water, with their squiggly tails. A lot of them were having trouble breaking the surface tension if the water and getting their bodies “unstuck”. What would you have tried in that scenario?
You can try this pattern, it's worked for me! th-cam.com/video/Y2O22yErnHw/w-d-xo.html
Beautiful!
Thank you.
Hi Barry, have you seen the BWO thorax fly by
Fliegenbinder RFoellmi.. I
Hi Reg, no I haven't I'll have a look if I can find it.
Thanks Barry! I find comparands difficult to tie. Maybe it's the quality of hair I'm using.
Hi FH, It could well be!
Love this fly . Maybe someday I'll master how much hair to use . I get it wrong every single time
Hi Davis, always try to use the right amount!
good spinner fly..
Takk.
