Hiring a spring cleaning crew is a great idea. I love all the events at the music festival. I have seen that airplane sitting by itself in that big empty lot for a long time. I am glad to see the market there coming to life around it.

You can buy (not a wise idea without spending some months there first, if only to decide on the best location for you), Rent a Condo (weeks, months or years and generally quite cheap. IMO the best option as it allows you to change if you get bored or your requirements change, whilst selling a condo can take many years) or live in a hotel (lots of hotels do long term deals).

500 baht for the day of cleaning is a bargain. I think cleaning company wanted to charge me $80 / hr for cleaning with minimum of 2 hours and that's not including tips for the cleaning lady. After I heard how much they want to charge me. I just handed my wife a broom & some towels and tell her to start cleaning lol.
