You are becoming quite the accomplished rider. Not only do you have a top end bike, you can claim to have the skills to get the most out of it. Glad to hear you lowered the PSI a little on the tires. Most people like to keep them rock hard and miss out on the added benefits of a softer tire. Stay forever young my friend and keep rolling. Rie safe and enjoy the journey.

Riding along the ridge looked great, would love to visit and so quiet up there, just a few walkers.
I suspect that it would be very different at the weekend Peter but i went at 10am Thursday morning .. it's one of the most beautiful views I've had in the UK and the plane flying past LOWER than us was just very, very cool. 🤘

Would love to have a spin on a fat bike. Does the rolling speed feel noticeably different?
Yep it does. I have a Kona Woo, 26 inch wheels, 4.8 inch tyres. Running around 10-15psi off road gives fantastic grip, but you loose easy rolling on hard pack/gravel surfaces. More so than a 27.5/29 at say 22ish psi. If I'm doing a street/cycle path ride I go up to 30psi, and it's not too bad, but you loose a lot the "suspension" effect of the big ol' tyres. The Woo I have is full rigid. I liken it to a pick-up truck with massive wheels. Mostly pointless in the UK.... but looks awesome :0)
It is almost certainly psychological 😂 but I'm convinced that my fat bike rolls 'better' than my full sus all mountain lapierre zesty. People can tend to trot out stats as if they are pro riders looking for those marginal 1% gains 😉 but the proof is in the pudding .. i ride with 9psi most of the time and the grip is amazing and the bike is super fast. I recently did a 50 mile road ride and raised the psi to 15 and she flew !!! Couple of unscientific things .. 🤔🤔 My mate had to chip his ebike as he couldnt keep up with me downhill and at the top of a big hill we just rolled down the hill with no pedalling and i pulled away.. make of thagt what you will buddy but I GUARANTEE you'll smile more on a fat bike 🤘🤘
