Bully is a really great game, my favorite thing in the game is how all characters are actually unique, there's no generic NPCs, even the town people have their own personalities and dialogues. But it's pretty obvious the latter half of the game plot was pretty rushed out, a lot of areas are unpolished, Gary is missing for most of the game, the whole "reputation drop" scenario is fixed extremely fast, and the Townies are noticeably rushed out with I think 2 missions to basically go from 0 to 100 respect.
There’s only a few unique NPCs outside of the cliques, but I feel like that really went in the game’s favour. When you’re a kid in school, you can recognise pretty much all your classmates and teachers, but once you travel outside that bubble people walking around the streets have very little importance to you. I believe it wasn’t done intentionally, but it’s the one thing that really made Bully feel authentic and gave it character. Two things that recent Rockstar releases have really lacked.
The ending is pretty bad in my opinion. The beginning half is one of the best in any game ever, it's incredibly, but the ending is just cliche after cliche and a bunch of rushed missions with no fleshing out, Zoey just kind of appears out of nowhere and so do the townies
I feel like this was a scrapped manhunt turned into another game seeing as how unnecessarily creepy many areas of the map are and even the guards at the asylum stick a needle in Jimmy’s neck if he catches him. The carnival clown attraction in that one nerds vs jock mission has a camera room that has eerie bgs.
"Who takes a honeymoon for a year?" Nobody. I think they're just looking for excuses to leave their son at a boarding school and never return. Also, now that we have red dead 2, and that shit went great, we need a bully 2.

Today I find it really weird. There's a fan theory that says that both Jimmy and Gary died when they fell from the tower and now Jimmy is in some kind of "purgatory". It would explain why all went very smoothly and well for Jimmy, why the night turned day when Jimmy walks out the school (when he is in tower with Gary it's already night, when he walks out it's day) and, finally, the "Endless Summer" that Jimmy keeps stuck after the ending of the game
I definitely agree! One of my friends (in other words, take this with a grain of salt) told me that he saw something years ago about a potential sequel. It was put on hold due to the fact that a game about bullying in a school is just not okay to make anymore. It may not be "politically correct" to make a game where kids beat kids up, kiss each other, and there are numerous stereotypes. How does that make sense when a game like GTA exists, along with many other games that do specific things that are messed up, and you absolutely would not be allowed to do in real life? I don't bloody well know... Sadly though, I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case. Maybe the fact that these are school kids is the problem? That, or money talks and GTA is STILL generating sweet cash money and it's not worth investing into another series... But that doesn't work, because Rockstar has done a number of games since GTA 5, so that logic is a bit flawed. Basically, where the hell is Bully 2? I would love for the game to come back!

This game always felt like satire/mockery to me. It’s obviously hilarious, but it felt like it was there to mock other games/shows/movies which made me enjoy it more.
It’s funny because that’s the exact purpose of GTA 5 (in a way, that’s the whole purpose of GTA as a whole, but GTA 5 is a good example of how Rockstar makes fun of sources material)
I mean my favorite part where you can find the satire is when Jimmy says “We can’t be friends Petey because I’m more popular now” but then says “Nah I’m just kidding”
It absolutely overjoys me knowing that you were having legitimate fun with this playthrough, this is my favourite game and seeing one of my favourite content creators having a ball with it gives me so many good vibes!
There are so many moments I love in this video, but my favorite is probably the simple repetition. Everytime I see Matto with a skateboard, I can expect a flight of stairs he fails to jump. Everytime I see someone walk up to Matto with a task he will humor them, then beat them up, followed by his rationale. This sprinkled in with the game + Matto's humor and charm, as well as the superb editing made this a nice watch!
Nah, what it deserves is a sequel, we have enough remasters as it is, and we'll have even more in the future. After 15 years, we should really see Jimmy in college or something like that.

I think it deserves a whole remake and for it to be developed to what it was intended to be, because Bully was supposed to be a much bigger game with a bigger story, gameplay mechanics and map. This game is technically my favorite GTA game, the story is great, the characters are great, the fighting system is incredibly satisfying, even though it went through development hell and is an incomplete mess, the controls are very easy to learn and traveling around the map is fun and easy, the side missions are not annoying, I really can't say enough good things about this game, it is the most replayable game ever imo.
One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the issues Matt ran into with this was due to running the game at 60fps. Unlocking the framerate seriously breaks it in many ways.
@@MrRamsestone It mostly works fine, but some missions break, the "wanted" meter goes down really quickly, and sometimes you completely freeze getting on bikes and stuff. It's playable, but those frequent things can kill the pacing of the game.

One possible reason the phone line wasn’t faster than the bridge, is electron drift velocity is extremely slow, typically 0.1 mm per second or even less (10^-4 ms^-1). Individual rate of charge transfer is extremely fast, but drift velocity is extremely slow. Everything happens really fast because free charge carriers are everywhere in a circuit in enormous quantities, for example 1 amp in 1s is 1C, which is 6.25x10^18 electrons of charge…. So electricity “flows” incredibly slowly, but the transfer of information seems instantaneous as they don’t have to move with either circuit being saturated already. I will admit, advanced answer that not a lot of players will be aware of lol

It's told through a series of progress reports by the protagonist Charlie who has an IQ of 68 and undergoes surgery (as the first human to do so) that basically triples his IQ. The most successful test subject besides Charlie was Algernon who was a lab rat. What really made it unique was the details in the progress reports written up by Charlie. (His grammar, spelling etc. is noticeably different as the story progresses). I don't want to spoil it in case anyone wants to read it but clearly Rockstar's writers don't mess around, even with Bully.

Everytime I see someone walk up to Matto with a task he will humor them, then beat them up, followed by his rationale. This sprinkled in with the game + Matto's humor and charm, as well as the superb editing made this a nice watch!

Nah, what it deserves is a sequel, we have enough remasters as it is, and we'll have even more in the future. After 15 years, we should really see Jimmy in college or something like that.
@@SeriousSam691 I feel like at that point it’s not Bully plus I can’t imagine a bully game not set in bullworth. The only way I can imagine it working is if they have new characters and cliques with some Easter eggs and references to old characters to tie it back to the original.

I think it deserves a whole remake and for it to be developed to what it was intended to be, because Bully was supposed to be a much bigger game with a bigger story, gameplay mechanics and map. That way we get Bullworth back and Jimmy. But I don’t think it’s possible since Dan Houser left Rockstar Unless if the company that Dan Houser’s working with buys the rights for Bully

This game is technically my favorite GTA game, the story is great, the characters are great, the fighting system is incredibly satisfying, even though it went through development hell and is an incomplete mess, the controls are very easy to learn and traveling around the map is fun and easy, the side missions are not annoying, I really can't say enough good things about this game, it is the most replayable game ever imo.

One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of the issues Matt ran into with this was due to running the game at 60fps. Unlocking the framerate seriously breaks it in many ways.

yeah I used silent patch but you still have to limit fps in some missions, for the gta games we got framerate vigilante
I finished the game with silent patch at 60 fps and it's not that broken. I only had to lock it to 30 in one side mission in chapter 2 I think.
@@MrRamsestone It mostly works fine, but some missions break, the "wanted" meter goes down really quickly, and sometimes you completely freeze getting on bikes and stuff. It's playable, but those frequent things can kill the pacing of the game.

One possible reason the phone line wasn’t faster than the bridge, is electron drift velocity is extremely slow, typically 0.1 mm per second or even less (10^-4 ms^-1). Individual rate of charge transfer is extremely fast, but drift velocity is extremely slow. Everything happens really fast because free charge carriers are everywhere in a circuit in enormous quantities, for example 1 amp in 1s is 1C, which is 6.25x10^18 electrons of charge…. So electricity “flows” incredibly slowly, but the transfer of information seems instantaneous as they don’t have to move with either circuit being saturated already.

I love when NPCs freeze in place in these "remasters" just as they exit what would have been the 4:3 aspect ratio.
