In my context, the Toons depicted here are taken hostage by a villain who is tired of being typecast as a sidekick and goes on a killing rampage to prove it. To drive it home further, they broadcast the murders to our hero Toon, only to learn that the channel was going out of business anyway. It'll all make sense in practice 😅
