I'm sure others have pointed this out, but you seemed to completely miss the point of the treble and bass controls on the deluxe and how they work. The treble control comes after the gain stage, but the bass control comes before it, and unity is around 11 o'clock. Adding bass before the gain stage will obviously change the tonal character of the saturation quite a lot and make the pedal sound a lot more loose and fuzzy on the low end - which we can all hear throughout your recording. But you never, not once, turn down the bass know on the deluxe, despite spending the entire video talking about how the deluxe is "less clear" and "has more gain" and seems to me less mid-focused, etc. Yea, that's the only way you dialed the pedal in. This makes for a pretty unhelpful comparison. Now there's a thousand people in the comments saying they buy the 3-knob verison for the superior clarity and definition in the tone..
This was super useful! I just impulsively purchased a Deluxe because it was a good deal and I always wanted to try the SHO, but in hindsight maybe I would have prefered the original. Thanks for the demo!
I have the deluxe version. It sounds glorious with the bass and treble at 0 and focus at 10. Drive at 2:00 and level at 10:00. Vox or Marshall type amps set clean.
Hi, I did a shootout where the Tube Screamers and Sweet Honey are compared to a lot of other overdrives. If you'd like to check it, you can find it here: th-cam.com/video/MnnpsKLUnY8/w-d-xo.html
Sounds great but I like the three knob version for that extra clarity. They sound fantastic together. BTW, I love my Joyo Sweet Baby! It covers these tones nicely!
Hi there, yes I was impressed by the tones when combining them. Could almost be set like that as always on pedals and then I could control the amount of gain from my guitar volume. Must investigate further 😄 I should really get my hands on that Joyo to check it out... Cheers, Thor
@@GUITARSGIZMOS You should! even if it's just to make another video to compare the Joyo with the MP! Great video! I've had the Joyo SHOD for about 10 years, and have no plans on parting with it. Maybe I should get the MP !
Oh no! I was about to buy the deluxe but after having watched this video I don't know what to do. The normal sweet honey has more clarity, the deluxe is muddy. Maybe I'm going to buy the normal or the royal blue...

I built a clone of the standard version, but added the "Voice" control from the Zendrive. Works great...
Hi, that sounds interesting. Did you find a kit to build? Would be interesting to check out 😊 Cheers!
Congratulations 👏👏👏👏 about your video! Great play, great guitar tone, super soft and comfortable to hear ❤
Thank you😊
Thor, great to find you here. Beautiful Account, thank you for the shows…greetings from Düsseldorf 😎💥🎸🎼
Hi Uli, thank you so much. 😊Cheers, Thor

Thank you, this is the type review that brings value!
Thank you ☺
Dang they sound lovely together! I need to get a deluxe now too lol
Nice. I used an Ibanez Tube Screamer and a tube amp with some other stuff. I'd buy this pedal in a heartbeat.

The Joyo is excellent.
It’s my “always on”.
@@jimmy5634 me too, everything sounds better with it's on and when you dig in, it growls !!!
The dude should learn how to use the deluxe prior to this demo.

Like the original version sound better. As you say original clearer and more defined. Less muddiness and more sparkle.
This or the BluesDriver-2 for my 335?
Whaaat!!!! A Tubescreamer?! Are you mad?!!! 😉
Thanks for doing this demo. I have the deluxe version and it sounds like crap to my ears. I’ve been trying to sell it for a year 🤣
