Headed there Tuesday. Now on the hunt for spikes spinners! Our go to bait where we stay had been the ole trusty black rubber worm, but it shifted to the fat Albert grub or pumpkinseed grub about 10 yrs ago. We’ve never used spinners on this pond, but we’ll give ‘em a whirl.

I don't know what body of water you are on but I know the general area. I get up there at least once a year. I've been fishing that region my whole life and I still havn't gotten close to trying all the spots that can be fished. I love fishing the "Daks". Absolutely beautiful scenery and awesome fishing. Spinners are deadly for pike, I like Mepps 2 or 3 oz, fire tiger colors. I do well on largemouth with green Yamamoto senkos, texas rigged. Shout out to Donnely's! Great homemade ice cream with a world class view! Great vid! Thanks!!

I fish with my brother Memorial weekend and in August in the Daks, so many places to fish with breath taking views. Glad you guys had a great time. The Rockfish down here on the Potomac were awesome this year. I gotta get back to Jersey and the Long Island again. Enjoy your vids.

Match the hatch. If your buddy's catching fish on a spinner, and you're getting nothing on a mosquito fly, go to a white/silver streamer fly and twitch mend. Then you will catch fish too.

I'm thinking of hitting Little Tupper this weekend with my kayak. Sadly the heritage native strain of brookies are all but wiped out because some idiot released bass into the lake in opposition to the DEC not allowing motors of any kind when they took it over. Unbelievable! It was the largest body of water and by far that supported a true native Adirondack strain. :(
Anyway I've caught some big largemouth there in the last few years, a couple over 20".
It wasn't just the no motors regulation (but allowing Whitneys to run their motorboats all they wanted), but DEC also said artificials only and all catch-and-release of the trout. I tried to persuade them to at least allow people to keep one trout over 12 inches if they wanted to keep the perch and bass out of there, but they knew best so it was their own fault the rank and file retaliated. The whole business smacked of elitism and the locals weren't having it.
