- A few weeks ago, I received a parcel from Arrtx with some of their oil pastels to try out on video. I am new to oil pastels and have very little experience with them but I thought it would be fun to give them a go. I swatch out all the colours than have a little play to see what effects I can create. I also use them for a mixed media sunflower drawing to see how I can use them in my work.
If you have any tips or are experienced with oil pastels than I would love to hear a comment form you.

Beautiful!
Love your videos and your style 💛 Edited to add, I ordered the Japanese granulating watercolors after your video and they’re finally arriving Monday!
Thank you!
i think using a pointed blender stick for pencils might be helpful to moving around the pigment of oil pastels around... sometimes I felt like they were too crayon-like for me to get the precision i needed. This gives me some ideas as to what to do with mine.
I bought some oil pastels but I’m not brave enough to try them yet
