    Great build! What pinion gear did you use with the torque tuned motor? the 17t or 19t?

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It's the stock TT02 pinion gear. In fact, all gears are stock at the moment. Will consider replacing them in the future. :)

    3:#0-3:50 GODAMN!! BADASS, how much did the upgrade cost? I have an 07 STI and think this car is badass. Closest thing to my car I can get. How much did you put in to make it actually fast?

    • @DRUNKINSKATER
      @DRUNKINSKATER 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, you linked everything

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you! Much appreciated. Yes, I've linked everything in the video description. :)
      The aluminium upgrades actually improve handling a lot. I'm still running stock electronics, so the speed is only slightly improved due to the ball bearing kit.

    I just ordered this car for me and my son to build. The only thing I did not get was the paint. What color paint did you use on the body?

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Body: PS-16 Metallic Blue
      Spoiler: TS-19 Metallic Blue
      Rear View Mirror: TS-29 Semi Gloss Black
      Windows: PS-31 Smoke
      I'm sure your son will enjoy building this kit. Good luck and enjoy!

    How much did the build cost. Curious because I'm looking to do one very similar.

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The kit cost around 150. Upgrades cost around another 150 or so. All in Australian Dollars. Good luck with your build!

    how do you keep rocks from getting around your drive shaft? I've had small pebbles get lodged in the spaces around my drive shaft and grind away some grooves in the drive shaft. Do you have that issue?

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have to say that it hasn't happened to me fortunately. You can use a dust cover to cover the electrics and exposed moving parts in the chassis tub. You should be able to find them on eBay. It looks like a shower cap (maybe you can use a shower cap too lol) and comes in different sizes.

    • @moocow2oo426
      @moocow2oo426 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@shehandavy I'm trying to work out a way to make wheel wells but I've got no idea how to do that lol. I'll have a look at the dust covers anyways.

    What upgrades would you suggest immediately when its time to build?

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seth, I'd suggest the following in the order listed. Go down the list as far as you can.
      1. Ball bearing kit
      2. Steering upgrades (steering bridge and adjustable links)
      3. Oil-filled dampers
      4. Drive shafts
      5. Front upper and lower suspension arms
      6. Rear upper and lower suspension arms
      7. Prop shaft
      8. Faster steering servo
      9. Other aluminium bits
      Hope this helps. Please like my video I'd you found it to be useful. Thanks!

    • @seth9537
      @seth9537 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for this. Very helpful. How about an upgraded brushed motor? I think I will not do a brushless system now to keep cost down.

    • @seth9537
      @seth9537 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      What on the drivetrain do I need to upgrade, if anything, if I plan on running lipo power?

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Seth Sorry for the delay in responding. You can have a look at the Yeah Racing Hackmoto V2 motor. It's a brushed 540 motor and will work with the stock ESC.

    • @shehandavy
      @shehandavy  6 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Seth You don't necessarily have to upgrade anything on your drivetrain to be compatible with LiPo. However, you will have to think about upgrading the ESC.

      It will 10x better with the TRF rear locking diff, kinda pricey but it's also all aluminum and Tamiya TRF upgrades for all factory race parts. You get what you pay for and Tamiya makes excellent stuff. Still running car I have owned for 30 years.
