That’s just the 6th century sand monkey interpretation of an estuary. Stop kidding yourself, neither of the two water bodies in the video are “fresh and palatable”. PS. it would have been the case if the waters were directly flowing one above another. Here the seas are flowing in one plane. They exert pressure laterally. This is just my theory tho, it can be wrong too.
I have been reading about it, and that guy is speaking nonsense. It’s called thermohaline circulation, which is causing ocean currents (variation of salinity and density of sea water caused by wind evaporation, cooling and freezing etc). It’s not a barrier but circular currents flow near the surface to the poles, sink and flow underneath away from the poles.. generally. Atlantic Ocean is more salty than the Pacific, but it’s not the reason why they don’t mix. Both are separated by the South American land mass with their own ocean bed topography and have their own circulations. Although they meet near the Antarctic, there’s little mixing because of separate circulations.
I saw this in the Drake Passage on my return from Antarctica. There it was ... a line in the water. I've also seen it at The Point in Pittsburgh where the Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers flow and mix into each other, creating the beginning of the Ohio River.
These footages were made in the Amazon river, where the Solimoes river joins the Rio Negro (black river) to form the Amazon river, in a city named Manaus, in Brazil. It has no relationship with the ocean. It is actually very far from the ocean. Some mountains can be seen on the background.

They actually do mix slowly. The higher density salt will eventually filter into the lower density water. The heavier density will be deeper and the lighter densities will be closer to the surface most of the slow mixing will happen close to the surface though salt is exchanged at all levels it will mix more rapidly at higher levels.

I didn't think anything of that until I moved from the West Coast to the East Coast. The rain on the East Coast falls differently than on the West. The water is thicker, somehow, and it sticks to the windshield unlike West Coast rain. I took my car, that I bought on the West Coast, with me to the East Coast and the rain would just slide right off the windshield whenever my state would get a storm. I drove in multiple rainstorms on the East Coast and it was like the rain didn't want to leave my windshield, it was crazy. My husband felt the same way and we just thought we were being silly... but couldn't get over it everytime it rained. Hearing that Atlantic water has more salt and is therefore more dense, now makes sense as to why it acts differently on the windshield. It technically is thicker/denser. I don't think we're so silly now.
O yea,its like whe I hear people been saying for years that when you buy a pizza and tastes better on the east Coast, than the west Coast people say it's the water that makes the Pizza taste Better somehow.

For that we will need to go molecular and you will see sodium in water is surrounded by water molecules this water molecules have a limited amount of h bonds with the sodium not allowing for others to do so, so it kicks other waters out, so not mixing but it can be mixed with enough kinetic energy but waves don’t cause they only transfer energy perpendicular so no mixing is done
Two main factors come in to play here the salinity factor, i.e. salt in the water and the temperature. Waters of the Pacific are less salty and they are warmer. Waters of the Atlantic are more salty and they are colder. They actually do mix at a point and it’s called a boundary layer. However, this rarely happens on the surface of the water.
These aren't two oceans meeting, they're freshwater meeting saltwater and because they have different densities, they don't like to mix and only diffuse very slowly.

@@munafahra8033 Pity those who disbelieve, it is not the eyes that are blind, but the hearts. (Quran 22:46) We can only do so much, may Allah SWT guide them.
The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans don't mix because of the Circumpolar Current, also known as the Antarctic Circumpolar Current. This current flows from west to east around Antarctica, and acts as a barrier that prevents the mixing of the waters of the Atlantic, Pacific, and Indian Oceans. The current is driven by the prevailing winds, and is one of the strongest ocean currents in the world. Additionally, the temperature and salinity of the waters in the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans are different, which can also contribute to their separation.
The atlantic and pacific aren't defined by some natural phenomenon, they were just arbitrarily drawn by cartographers who had probably never even been there. This clip is mislabeled.
The Atlantic and Pacific Oceans do mix, but their waters are separated by a boundary called the "Oceanic Ridge" or the "Mid-Atlantic Ridge." This underwater mountain range runs from the Arctic Ocean to the Antarctic Ocean, and it serves as a dividing line between the two oceans. The water on either side of the ridge has different properties such as temperature, salinity, and density. The Atlantic Ocean is generally warmer and less salty than the Pacific Ocean, so the water on either side of the ridge doesn't mix easily. Additionally, the Coriolis effect, which is caused by the Earth's rotation, can also affect the flow of ocean currents, making it difficult for the water to mix. However, there are places where the two oceans do mix, such as at the southern tip of South America where the currents of the two oceans converge. The mixing of the two oceans is important for regulating global climate patterns and ocean currents, which have a significant impact on marine life and weather patterns.
I'm just wondering if you sail through this phenomenon.....whatever it actually is.... Does a boat ⛵ react any differently while moving from one body to the other?
What if you throw a splash of water from Atlantic ocean to the Pacific? Would the Pacific ocean just throw the water from the Atlantic back to the Atlantic ocean like a waterproof shirt?

Wouldn’t the denser water sink and the less dense water flow over?
Good question
it would have been the case if the waters were directly flowing one above another.
Also in Ohio is palestine and Lebanon. Drake pass is how we lea e this crator.
These footages were made in the Amazon river, where the Solimoes river joins the Rio Negro (black river) to form the Amazon river, in a city named Manaus, in Brazil. It has no relationship with the ocean. It is actually very far from the ocean. Some mountains can be seen on the background.

In the physical ocean, there is no concept of separate oceans. It’s all just one big mass of water.
