I don’t mind the art style but I think the story’s plot is what weakens the movie. The whole rushed love plots kinda ruined it, if it was developed better this would’ve been good, amazing even.
It’s sad it was a wasted opportunity since I love fairytale movies going for a darker look, like Labyrinth and When A Monster Calls.
Very underrated movie and really needs a blu ray release.
I actually really like the style because so many child movies make the characters way too colourful and cute when I just wanted something more realistic
I wish both songs had full versions. 'Cmon Marianne' puts a smile on my face, but the power behind 'stronger' blows me away.

Didn't really understand this too well as a kid. But looking back now, this movie with Rolan and Mariannes relationship was toxic as f💀 the guy kept gaslighting her and kept trying to make it seem like it was her fault in the first place. So glad that she stood her ground 😊

And then she suddenly became a cold stone fighter after the wedding was castle. She, princess of the kingdom, one day to be Queen, was cheated on by a soldier. She probably didn't want pity on her sake and it would be embarrassing. And we see that her father wants her to be with someone so badly, she probably didn't want to burden with the fact she was cheated on. (That's probably why she whispers to Roland "You cheated on me, remember?" As she looks around nervously instead of outing him out loud)

The accents in this movie are fantastic. Roland with his southern accent and the bog king with his Scottish accent.
It makes a nice little change I enjoy animated films that have characters with more than one sound to their voices a little accent in their tone can really change a scripts power in my opinion

When I was younger, I had seen a video on TH-cam from this movie. It was of Marianne singing Can't Help Falling In Love. I just thought it was some video and didn't really care. Years later, in scrolling through Disney Plus and I see this movie. I recognized the character and I was totally shocked. Great movie!

when i was little my dad worked nights so i was left to entertain myself most weekends so me and my sibling would get redboxes of movies we just though sounded/looked cool, this was one of thos movies and it still feels like a fever dream
I discovered this movie completely by chance about 2 months ago and I really liked it. It’s true that there are a lot of songs and some stereotypes but I found the film not bad overall and I really liked the songs (especially Strange Magic haha). I'm obsessed with this movie but unfortunately I don't know anyone who loves it as much as I do or who knows about it 😢. It's a shame. This movie has potential. It's sad that it was such a failure. despite everything, it will forever remain in my heart. It's definitely one of my guilty pleasures (sorry for my English, I speak French and use Google Translate)

Truly an underrated film
Honestly, a part of me still loves this movie. It's like one of those weird gems, and the animation is very pleasant to look at, such as the wing movement. It's charming in it's own way, despite the plot (from what I can remember) was not that good, but I still liked the direction they went in with it aka the romance between Marianne and the Bog King!
