I was a girl with sunshine, the one who always had a smile on her face, but these accidents changed me.Two years ago, I was diagnosed with ADHD, failed my exam, betrayed by my friends, being edged out by the kids on my school bus for two months. I totally lost it and I attempted self- harm, I never asked for help and people won't reach out for help even if I did. This song was my only comfort. Years passed, I grew up . My ADHD got better, my best friends supported me, comforted me and my grades improved a lot. A secondary school which I liked a lot accepted me. I slowly returned to the optimistic, sunshine and funny girl, with the help of my best friends, this song and my fictional crush( He's Percy Jackson by the way.) You also have to be willing to listen to someone you wouldn't usually or get past the idea that just because something is mainstream it can't be great. Some of it has gone downhill, but there's also some fantastic artists out there.

I still have trauma from my bullying and is still scared of getting into a relationship but all this made me stronger, made me wiser. All these emotional and physical trauma Madame who I am today. I am one of the top students in my school, getting awards and hopefully, will get into my dream university and career.

This song, aside from its reference to getting over a bad relationship, which is so very needed, is truly useful to many life situations, that are unfair, but you pick yourself up, realize that all of your difficulties and weaknesses have built your character and made you a stronger person. You March on, and succeed in your path in life.
So true - the only ORIGINAL singing reality show winner. Besides, Kelly and Carrie are the only two winners who have actually done something with their career. I slowly returned to the optimistic, sunshine and funny girl, with the help of my best friends, this song and my fictional crush( He's Percy Jackson by the way.) You also have to be willing to listen to someone you wouldn't usually or get past the idea that just because something is mainstream it can't be great. I had 5 years straight of bullying and was even mentally abused by a teacher and a principal at my school in elementary. Those years were horrible but the good thing is that I came through it. So true - the only ORIGINAL singing reality show winner. Besides, Kelly and Carrie are the only two winners who have actually done something with their career. Several contestants have become decent artists (Daughtry, Jennifer Hudson, Danny Gokey, etc. - even Hollyn, who didn't make the show) but none have really taken off like Carrie and Kelly.

As a 33 year old man, who is coming up on 1 year of sobriety in my drug addiction, soon to be divorce because of my actions, this is my mantra. Always loved Kelly as a teenage boy when she hit the scene on Idol, but her lyrics, while catchy, are so powerful for more than just today's climate for females as I assume it was intended for.
