Most tourists come to L.A. hoping to see famous people. They go on these tours and if they’re lucky, they get to see a celebrity’s assistant. Jimmy thought it would be fun to give some tourists a chance to actually see real movie stars, so he surprised a tour group by inviting them to come into the #Oscars.

People saying this was distasteful because of the whole "come here ordinary people - look at the celebrities" - these tourists were supposedly taken from a bus that was making a tour exactly to show some places associated with celebrities. They wanted to see this, and they were given a great upgrade. What's wrong about that?

Oh please Natalya, this is a spin off from something else and a spin off from something else. Eddie Murphy did something similar years ago when he hosted the MTV awards. I was a kid but I remember it well. He got some janitor to come on stage and then he announced to the audience that the janitor was responsible for all the glitter that was lightly coming down on them throughout the night. He also left the stage with the cameras still on him and walked to the ladies restroom. It's kind of a similar theme. So everyone's copying somebody. Don't make it into some big catastrophe.
Didn't Ellen give the local pizza guy the best business day of his life by making him serve food at the oscars.. He must've got like $10,000 in tips. They're both cool to be fair

I honestly thought this was the best segment that the oscars ever done and I love how most of the celebs were really good sports about it and most of them were so happy to see them 😊 Meryl were so happy to see all of them, Nicole & Keith were talking to a few of them for a nice bit of the segment, Ryan stood up and greeted every one of them walking by probably the most nicest and sweetest of them all even taking some selfies with them (Ryan is usually very humble and kind anyway he's Canadian after all haha 😄), Emma was interacting with them a lot as well, Jennifer seemed pretty excited too giving her sunglasses to one of them and spoke to a few of them and taking selfies & even Denzel was a pretty good sport about it too surprisingly since he's usually very private and what not
Yes most of the tourists had their phones out but for a lot of them they had it out for like a minute or two to take it all in I mean come on get real guys who wouldn't? It's the oscars for god sakes haha and most of them while obviously starstruck & excited definitely kept it together and treated them like human beings some were a little weird like that Gary guy and that blonde woman that was on the verge of crying but other than that it was nice and sweet for Jimmy and the oscars crew to do that if that was me out there I probably would've fainted especially if I got to meet Emma Stone, Keith Urban and Jennifer Aniston

I dont normally watch Oscars, but usually just the highlights afterwards. I'm so glad this moment happened, it almost took my breath away. The stigma of being 'untouchable diamonds' met with common people and the wall just instantly knocked down. Prob diff people interpret it different than I do. But I thought it was so pure, and humbling for each side to experience.
All the celebs were so gracious. Really great moment.
This is awesome. Jimmy did actually let those people to have a memorable experience on the tour. Not all of us lucky enough to have the chance to be in the oscars.
