Another incredible song that I discovered watching The Sopranos, just finished the show 2 weeks ago, now I understand why is called the best series ever made. RIP James Gandolfini.
I've seen it also this year,for the first time. I postponed it for years,cause i didn't want another glorification of criminals...But it's not so much more about that,than the relationship between these characters,with the added pressure of being in the mob The best tv series i've seen,side by side with Rome.
@@alakhazom I totally agree about criminal glorification, I am costarrican and have watched some mexican narco series, where the cast looks like taken from a modeling agency, and depicting that kind of life as glamorous and even desirable. Saving the distances, The Sopranos do the opposite showing the mobsters as normal people with very relatable issues, and making the watcher almost feel empatethic with a lot of characters, making you forget that they are horrible human beings capable of awful deeds.

They made me laugh,but i always wanted them to get their dues,from life,society... Tony although bad due to his profession-he was surprisingly protective of his family,and tried to keep them away from his lifestyle. Especially AJ,who has so many "supporters"...The kid was a bum,with no personality at all-and no,not because of his father,as he was never forced into that lifestyle,but for sure he mooched his father of his money,and mother for sympathy... "I work all day,to buy all this 6000ft house,big tv's,food on the table,all kinds of video games,scooters, bicycles, Columbia university-and for what,to come home to this?" If it's a movie that i want to be done well,it's about the life of Cesare Mori,the Iron Prefect! Called that way by the harsh treatment he hammered on the italian Mob,putting them in their place. P.s: i've seen an interesting movie,south of you from Colombia. It's called Pajaros de Verano-it shows that most of the time crime doesn't pay,and it destroys everything around you.

I’m an immigrant living in the US 37 years and it wasn’t always fun specially in the beginning. Until one day learning English on my own I came across this song and my life was never the same ever since. If I ever was to meet these guys I would thank them from the bottom of my heart. They have no idea the impact it had in me.
Forgot about this old classic until I watched The Sopranos. Ran to the attic and dug this out, couldn’t wait to blast it. Lit it up only to discover that the studio version is flat and dull by comparison. This live version is by far the best.
This version is from around 1994, nearly 30 years from the original release in 1966. 30 years of life and rock music evolution and honing their craft. Both are enjoyable to me depending on my mood.

When I was a kid,back in the 60s, I bought a bunch of new old stock 45s from a local bicycle shop that was closing down. One of them was The Kinks Lazin' on a sunny afternoon. That was when I discovered I'm not like everybody else. The name just jumped out at me. Being a bit of a rebel at that time, this number became my signature tune! Over the years I completely forgot about it till I watched The Sopranos. I love this TV prog version, so much so it inspired me to pick up the guitar again and learn to play the song. 😊
I've been listening to this on CD and to a large extent it has been buried among the other tracks. Here it grows and has an aggression that is brilliant. Dave's guitar elevates the track from very good to seriously special.

Have mercy - this is one killer song! Sopranos Xfinity "Watchathon" and this heavy rock just knocked me over. Stopped watching episodes to look it up. Oh glory - what a hard-hitting truth for all of us - everybody else. Sure we all are "not like everybody else" and it takes the Kinks to roll it right. I was lucky enough to see this great band perform 3 times in a two month period back in the middle 1980's. If I remember correctly it was twice in Passaic and once in NYC. Altogether I saw them at least 1/2 a dozen times and never did they put on anything less then a great show though Ray & Dave seemed to love argue with each other
I fucking love this song. This is what music is all about. I first heard this so of course on the sopranos. It only makes sense a kick ass series and a kick ass song go together. I can't find the this original on itunes which sucks.
