"They say that sometimes we go around feeling pity for ourselves. But behind our back a great wind is carrying us".
I finished watching this wonderful show last night, and my god, I already miss it. Truly a magnificent show, it became one of my favorites so quickly.
Tony Soprano is my favorite character from the show, and Chrissy is right after him, so it's pretty obvious why I used so many scenes of these two.
I orignally started working on this project when I first started the show, back then I still used Sony Vegas, but then I decided to take a break from the video for a few seasons, but around season 4 I got back to it again, and I edited this while I was watching. I believe my next Sopranos video will be a bit better than this one.
If you still haven't watched this AMAZING show, I highly recommend you to start right now aha
I'd like to thank Nadiow for being my inspiration while making this video, please check out his Christopher Moltisanti video, I watch it non stop for a few months now: • (Sopranos) Christopher...
Another video that inspired me so much to use this song, is a collab between two of my favorite editors. Thank you, Artem and Zurik:

I’ve never loved a TV show more than The Sopranos. I must have seen every episode a dozen or more times.
I was 30 when it came out and I’m 51 now. It actually improves the more times you watch it and moves you in different ways depending on the stage you’re at in your own life.

I think I've watched this over 1000 times. This arrangement gives more than the whole series. It tells about confusion, life, dilemmas, struggle, the absurdity of life, aging, time, growing up, shrinking, and most importantly, death. Time and death are after person. Pain never ends, that's what makes life and happiness meaningful. I live in a poor country where the minimum wage is $400. Anxiety about the future, unemployment, hunger and, at best, a crappy economy are consuming me, damn it. Despite everything, most of the time even I am happy. I can't help myself after watching this video. I keep thinking about the beginning of my life, the past and my choices. The whole reality of life hits me in the face. I say this as someone who doesn't like mob bullshit, The Sopranos have an incredible philosophy of life. If one day I put a gun to my head, I will close my life book with this video. Song selection, sections, transitions of emotion, integrity of meaning are magnificent. There is no such thing as a wonderful life, life itself is wonderful.

"The Sopranos" is one of the most refined series I've watched. And once in a while, when i watch this song, every heart wrenching moments flashes and my heart gets heavy. I guess the psychological layer this series portraits on each and every character is remarkable. The Sopranos stands above all in the world of mob-gangster cinmematic score. The artistic touch to depict such a magnificent gangster drama and the vulnerabilities they deal with is phenomenal. The multi-layered complexed character of Tony Soprano is worth a watch. first of, this is my fav sopranos vid now. I am so happy you made a vid of this show. it was released almost 20 years ago and it feels so good to see new vids of this show. I am sure many people know this show but not everyone watched it, and since you are one of the best editors atm I think you will motivate everybody to watch this show. ahaaah I love that you managed to show at least one scene of every character but what I loved the most is how you showed a lot of the relationship between tony and chris, they are my favorites characters of the show and I never get tired of remembering their best moments and specially with this song! damn!! it was so well chosen! 1:54 I love this part bc you show chris saying that he loves adriana and the next scene you show chris and tony together and carmela says that he loved tony so much, it means a lot!!! he loved adriana but he loved more tony and those scenes show that very well. 2:02 and 3:11 what a fantastic paralel you did! not just because silvio and tony were suportting each other but also bc they were truly friends, I found very smart the use of those scenes in different times. and about the editing overall, everything is incredible! the zooms, the coloring, scenes choice...everything flows soo good. this vid is in my heart

The Sopranos, whilst not my favourite show, is in my opinion one of the best and most realistic. It's not really about the mafia. It's just about life in general in an existential sort of way. It's seriously extremely depressing in a much more tangible way than most other pieces of media as I feel it communicates a lot of the tragedy of existence.

It can't be overstated how much James Gandolfini (R.I.P.) gave life to this show. Tony Soprano really was the quintessential antihero in television, and despite how dark and sinister he was, people were still drawn to him in a humanized way (well, at least up until the final season). I'm not sure we will ever see another character like Tony Soprano again in television, David Chase wrote an incredible juxtaposition of a mob boss balancing his personal affairs with his home life. James Gandolfini really did such a masterful job portraying that character and the show would have paled in comparison without him.

The parallel perspectives presented by “I gave that fuck pieces of my soul Adrianna you know what he said to me? He said I should go and have a drink” versus Tony screaming “you pushed me to this” shows the complete lack of genuine communication between Chrissy and Tony. They both were trapped in this pseudo-father-son relationship, the shackles of which Chrissy brings up to Tony. They are trapped in imagining what their relationship should be like, yet lacking in any effort to realise what level of genuine communication is would take to get there. Tony tells Chrissy to “have a drink” to deal with his problems, yet Tony would never invest enough time into realising why that is so hurtful to Chrissy. At the same time, Chrissy will never know why Tony doesn’t want to invest in understanding Chrissy’s problems ; his fear over the power of his own emotions make him heartless and blind to other peoples - even those he loves.

Невероятную грусть навеял этот ролик. Грусть от того, что в итоге каждый из нас одинок. Спасибо за прекрасный монтаж.

There's always someone pointing a gun everytime the song says "It's a wonderful life".
Great foreshadowing which states the sarcasm of living this life. Great edit brother.

At least Christopher isn't delusion about his fate. Poor Paulie thinks he's going straight through the gates of heaven, after a brief stopover in purgatory.

“I gave that fuck pieces of my soul, Adrianna. You know what he said to me?!...He said I should have another fucking drink!” So tragic, Christopher was destroyed by the man he looked up to. But he wasn’t the only one, in the end Tony destroyed all the people he loved. His uncle, his cousins, his wife, his children, his friends. Tony ensured they all went to hell with him.

He played his part and they played theirs. All of them had at least the opportunity to leave at all behind them, but I agree Tony is largely to blame.
