Bluetti AC200P Welding! Tractor Mini Clip Shear

- Welding with a battery may be misleading, but it is still a valid concept. We had a very unusual repair on my Mini Clip Tree Shear. I clamped down on a small tree with a steel T-post in the middle. It did some damage to the shear. Let's see if we can fix this.

The company that designs and builds that shear should have a machine recess and bolt on replaceable or reversible blade similar too a wood chipper . There will always be something that will damage the edge . Would be nice for the customer too have a easy fix in the field . You did good though 👍 There is spiecal rod for building edges . But they are exspencive and take lots of prep and procedure on the edge etc . Pretty impressive battery pack . 👍
I would guess, it would add complexity and cost. Not a bad idea, but I hope I don't shear anymore Tee-Post
Nice, I love the Bluetti. Helps me with all kinds of tasks. Band of brothers and sisters 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I am freaking loving the Bluetti. I now know what they are rated so high. God Bless!
I've enjoyed watching your channel more and more. Learning some good tips and tricks. Thanks! Keep having fun.
Thank you. I appreciate your comment.
That a great video my brother God bless you and your family thanks again x
Thank you too! I was happy that it worked.
SOmebody said, “Let’s talk about cool tools”, and you took it and ran! Great Ditty!!
Thank you. I will use this weld setup often for small jobs.
Cool repair thanks Tony and Tanya
Our pleasure!
Good job , Tony! 👍
Thank you. Time will tell if this works. I really had nothing to lose.
Looks good Tony
I used it a couple hours today. It is holding.
So when welding on blades like that there is a concern about messing with the chemistry of the base metal from the heat of the weld. Even so I would have ran hot 7018 on it and then ground it down after so I know it has good burn in. Another idea is too use hard facing wire or hard facing rod. All in all good job! I'm sure it'll continue to work great and if or when it chips again you know you can fix it And enjoy your video's as always
I was happy that it turned out as well as it did. I really had nothing to lose being that the sheer was already chipped. I think in the video I said it was hardened steel. I meant to say harder steel.
@Tony's Tractor Adventure Homestead ahh that makes sense. And yeah it definitely worked nicely afterwards and had a smooth edge. The power supply was very impressive too.
Nice job of field repair and maint. I normally use a chunk of brass or copper as a backer when welding like this. Weld won't stick to it.
I understand. I had to use what I had at this location. I don't weld every day so I am out of practice. Next time I will use brass
Use copper or aluminum for your backing and you'll not need to worry about fusing. Copper is preferred.
I understand. I had what I had at this location. I looked around and found this rusty steel.
@@TonysTractorAdventure sometimes we just need to improvise, overcome and adapt.
@@DaveJohnsonad5nm Tony is/was a Chief Warrant Officer in the Army, so he is well versed on adapting. Sometimes you can’t wait until the bullets stop, just getter done!
Should have left it rusty dirty harder to fuse
Very nice job Tony, the blueTati works great!👍🏻
I was very excited to see it work. I was unsure.
I use Blue Demon hard facing mig wire on my bush hog blades.
Didn't know something like that was available. Thanks for the tip!
Good to know.
Good Evening To both of You 😇👍 That is so OUTSTANDING about that Bluetti generator 👍😇👌 Very nice field welding repair Sir and very nice close views 👌😇👍 Cheers 🍻🍻
It was the best option. I really had nothing to lose by trying.
Nice job. Learned something.
I just dropped the Bluetti review if you are interested. th-cam.com/video/d128JJ9AWUQ/w-d-xo.html
Gizmo approved cut!
Don't you know it! Gizmo is always inspecting the work.
I'd be kind of worried about bigger chips/chunks breaking off again, but I've always patched up my bush hog blades to get a little more life. Do slow quick spots on the chunks and it holds a little better, but doesn't hold up to rocks/harder materials.
I am not worried. This blade moves very slow. It is only supposed to shear trees. LOL!
I thought you were a real tuff guy until you put your gloves on, lol. Nice work!
Tough as a bent nail.
Surprised the Bluetti could do that well. Didn't break a sweat! I've welded my mower blades before after hitting a rod in the yard. Your trimmer thing looks great for getting under the autumn olive bush/tree! where did you get that Mini clip shear? I don't see it on that website in your summary.
You have to use flat bar copper under the plate
Apparently, I don't have too! 😀 I had what I had. I would call this a field repair.
Bryce will work well to
I wished I had had brass, but I had what I had. Good Idea for future repairs.
I THINK WHAT WE NEED IS TO WELD IN THE FIELD LETS SAY WITH A small 110 arc welder, but keep the power supply connected to a 110 power plug meanwhile I am welding. that way we are using and replacing the currient, is that posible , any conflict with That! THAT WAY ITS GOING TO BE A NON STOP WELDING is there anyting like this outhere
Tony, Nothing beats a try, but a good 'ol American failure. Good looking welding.😆😆😆
That's right! We had nothing to lose!
My fear is that you've diluted the chemistry of the existing blade by adding mild steel filler. Also, depending on what alloy the blade is made from you also risk softening it with the high heat of the Weld. But the proof is in the pudding and if you can clip that elm with no damage you're looking pretty good!
So, what you are saying is, I did OK! 😇 I welded for such a short time, the overall mass of the cutter, never warmed. Time will tell.
Let me know if it works. I have a similar job coming up with chipper blades.
A grinder and NO Gloves! Ouch just waiting for the ER room footage! 🙄🤷
While you hold piece with one hand and grinder with the other.
I am really lucky. 40 years in heavy maintenance, a machinist, sucky welder, carpenter, etc. I spent two combat tours chasing bullets and mortars too! Still, you could be right! I did get a terrible paper cut once.
Taking the temper out ,mile
I think it works fine. I didn't have anything to lose.
They need a hydraulic chainsaw on a pole, unless it is already out there
Already out there. I think I seen it on Tractor Time with Tim.
There are companies that make them. I would think it would be time consuming to stop and sharpen the chain.
What I think is I just fell for a commercial.
You seem a bit jaded! 😇
