You keep saying "theyre a really successful rock band, what do I know", but I really think your criticisms are speaking on the behalf of the majority of muse's fans. Maybe they are stil a 'successful band' but I think most if not all people noticed a dip in the essence of Muse's music and quality quite a while ago
I was literally thought about Eurasia before you guys mentioned it. It seems like they’re trying to get back to their old sound, but still attract a larger audience. Good work guys!
Muse was one of my introductions to rock I caught on to them with their song Uprising. I'm a hip hop fan primarily but Muse is one of the few rock bands I've heard.. I like them because their messages can be deep many of their songs. messages against the system, government control, social norms.
You probably won’t see this but I would love for you to react to Mac Demarco Recommended songs; -still beating -chamber of reflection -freaking out the neighbourhood
Muse were never about edge, it's all about atmosphere & emotions, shame you couldn't get into that part of the band. Respect your opinion tho I don't agree with it.
I'm not sure you understood what Simon was saying, to be honest By "lost their edge", what I think he meant was that they used to be able to create incredibly personal and intentional atmospheres, like you say that's what they were known for, but this song here? Shows none of those qualities, as objectively as I can look at it... This is a generic ass pop song. It's the lack of intensity of it all that's striking... Because the talent is still there, the vocals are still on point, etc....
Would be interesting to see you guys react to ‘The handler’ or ‘Reapers’ off Drones - Muse’s last album. I thought that was a decent album with more of their old style in it
Muse kinda lost me at 2nd Law... I probably like 4 songs off the whole album. Then drones was not for me at all and the new album isn't looking much better. The fact this is a single when it just sounds like a slowburning piece of filler to get the album to a good length says a lot.
I don't want you to think I'm attacking you, but It confuses me how a lot of muse fans say they want "rock muse" but didn't like Drones. It was heavy rock all the way through. I do how ever respect your opinion and don't want you to think I was having a go at you.
Same here man I listened to the Drones album I appreciate it, I like psycho because they finally did something with that riff for what feels like 20 years lol. But you really can't beat the old stuff in my opinion.
I mean really thinking about it it could just be that I've moved away from Muse with age. I still like the old stuff because I listened to it a lot during my teen years, so I know it. Maybe I'm just not so into them anymore that I can get into their new stuff. I dunno. As you say Drones is definitely a step away from the Space Queen sound that they had moved towards in the two albums prior, and is a lot more punky and hard rock, but I just felt for such a seasoned band, it felt clumsy. None of the songs really stood out for me as great, they were just all okay. But to each their own! Every time a band releases a new album they lose some fans, and gain some fans. That's a given. They just want it to be more people coming in and enjoying the new album than the amount of the old guard leaving.
Ey dudes , This was the first song he wrote after the drones Tour , he missed his family , cause he was very far away from them, its the softside of them ! so don´t judge this song this way.
I may not be a hardcore Muse fan, but I do have all of their albums and-like Queen and several other bands I love-I’m willing to follow whatever direction they go. Do you really want a band to stagnate and keep producing “Stockholm Syndrome” 15 years later? They’re growing and changing. And that’s a good thing, in my opinion.
Lol I thought about this man, not sure that's a great idea... For this one, either you stay really surface level (and merely comment on his ability to keep this up for10 minutes), or you go deep into it, dissecting every single fucking bar... So either you end up with a 4 minute heavily edited video, or a 45 minute one like Lost in Vegas did lol
Hey! You guys need to react to Ab Soul’s The Book of Soul. It is such a devastating song about Soul’s life and it really shows off his lyricsm. Also the beat is absolutely incredible with its jazz like sound. Please react to this! Keep up the good work guys!
While Muse isn't gonna win over any of their old fans with their new album, the sound they are giving here fits with the concept of their new album. The theme of the world being a simulation is much better conveyed by this synth influenced sound.
u should react to A Tribe Called Quest ( literally anything it's all amazing) and Wu Tang Clan ( probably something from 36 chambers is best as an introduction to the Wu).
More DEATH GRIPS PLEASE, preferably something from the Money Store album. E.g: The Fever Get Got I've seen footage Love The channel, keep up the great work XD
Also if y'all not gon do Ambition by wale, meek mill and ross. At least do them separately. Wale - Negotiations Meek Mill - Cold Hearted Rick Ross - Stay Schemin' / If they Knew PS: USE GENIUS, these aren't your SC rappers, they have a lot, I mean a lot of DEPTH to their verses.
Yep, Something Human is not a good song but the new one from yesterday, The Dark Side is a fucking good Muse's song. It's not rock at all but it sounds like some old stuff from Showbiz to Black Holes.
completely agree about muse, the first few albums were so good. Some new rock reacts that I have stubled across recently Ho99o9 - [ STREET POWER ] or Blood Waves ECCA VANDAL - Battle Royal Estrons - Cold Wash Blood Command - Cult of the new beat or Ctrl+Art+Delete
I guess I have similar opinions to you guys on Muse. I adore the albums from Showbiz to Black Holes and Revelations but I've struggled with the direction they're heading in. However, I haven't completely boycotted them and still hold them as one of my favourite bands mainly from the great memories I have of their first few albums, and the amazing live performances they still put on. Whilst their more recent albums haven't fully aligned with my tastes, there are still some gems which I recommend including: Unnatural Selection and MK Ultra (The Resistance), Animals (The 2nd Law), Reapers, The Handler and Defector (Drones). I'm almost certain the new album will be my least favourite but I'm still interested to see what they can produce with the hopes that there will be echoes of their older music too.
As an older Muse fan I also get a little bit frustrated sometimes with the direction they're going to, but I refuse to give up on them (kinda stuborn like that 😏). This is one of their weakest songs but you should definitely check out Darkside (new song) is actually good 😎
I'm lucky I got to see the Origin of Symmetry 10 year anniversary live. Wont see a Muse like that again. I stuck with them until the 2nd Law album I just miss the rocking bangers of old.
Its not a bad song, but it just isnt as good as their other stuff. React to The Dark Side. Thats some good shit.
I disagree I think its a great song and the best outta the simulation theory album I know many people would disagree but that's just my opinion
Muse also said their next album will have some of the poppier singles they just released but rock versions of them which I think will be cool.
This title is a question I ask myself everyday. Keep asking questions

I dont agree with that... And many fans too. The New album is different and Good as always.
I disagree obviously they're not as good as they were like 8-15 years ago but wotp and Simulation theory are good albums in my opinion
Very raw and honest reaction. This is why I love your channel.
I was literally thought about Eurasia before you guys mentioned it. It seems like they’re trying to get back to their old sound, but still attract a larger audience. Good work guys!

You should react to The Handler from Drones. It's the Muse you described that you liked.
Funny that they JUST released a new awesome song.
Yeezus.... When did muse start to become maroon 5?
They're not pop and their music is not about break ups and shit so... never.
Never

React to Black Thought freestyle on Flex. Make sure you have the lyrics for that one

You guys like Queens of the Stone Age? I feel you would both like their heavier stuff (Rated R, Songs for the Deaf)
I don't care, I still love this song and the direction they are taking.
Chance the Rapper - Summer friends
A$AP Rocky - A$AP Forever music video

While Muse isn't gonna win over any of their old fans with their new album, the sound they are giving here fits with the concept of their new album. The theme of the world being a simulation is much better conveyed by this synth influenced sound.
Some newer Muse songs I thought you guys would like are Reaper, Liquid State, and Survival.
"Where did it all go wrong" is a pretty ignorant statement
Since you guys like wordplay, check out Dave - Two Birds No Stones. Incredibly talented young artist
u should react to A Tribe Called Quest ( literally anything it's all amazing) and Wu Tang Clan ( probably something from 36 chambers is best as an introduction to the Wu).
Oceans Ate Alaska - Escapist!
Try Muse's 'The Handler' that's a much heavier song of their last album
I have 2 bombs for you guys!
Kendrick Lamar [untitled 02 | 06.23.2014] and [untitled 07 | 2014 - 2016] off the 'Untitled unmastered' album.

They released a new song today lol
EVERYTHING IN SLOW MOTION (MOST DAYS)
Listen to the album in context. It would be exhausting if every track was a Stockholm Syndrome copy. This slow one is a nice change of pace
Their newest one is a bit better - give that a go. Quite reminiscent of a fair few of their earliest albums.
HEAT by Brockhampton is an essential track. You’ll like it more than any of their others you’ve reacted to.
We Own the Night by Dance Gavin Dance
🔥Frozen- Joyner Lucas has a powerful message.🔥
You should react to some songs from drones like the handler and reapers

Yeah, I couldn't get into Muse at all. When I was a teen, I knew loads of people that loved them. Beats me.
