    Outstanding job again my man. Yes you will make this a career sooner than you think. By the way I'm not telling you what to do but if you sign up for Amazon associates you can put links to these products in your description for a little commission. It works for me

    Agree with what everyone is saying... You are awesome!!! Thank you so much for what you are doing. A lot of us just want to get an honest review without all the hype provided by companies. Not only do you do this, but you also provide quality video/edit, and you even admit to being wrong and learning new things from your viewers/subscribers. In today's fake social media crazed society, honesty, quality, and integrity always shine through as they always have. Keep doing what you're doing, keep educating and informing people with your reviews and you will continue to grow. You got yourself a new and appreciative subscriber.

    This review has motivated me to ask about sending my Landyachtz walnut lines back from whence it came (newly ordered, hasn't arrived yet!)
    Going to try to get a hold of a Carver with C7 instead (massively sold out in UK!). Had buyers remorse for the past 24 hours.
    It's when you said pumping isn't as effective on the Landyachtz than some other slatesurfs out there.
    Still not totally sure what's best!

    • @MrRelys
      @MrRelys 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@StreetMonsterInnerCircles Yeah I only have the C7 which uses a spring mechanism over bushings in the CX. C7 is better if you want to use as a cruser for pumping longer range and CX is better if you want to use it as a surf trainer or go down steeper hills from what I understand.

    The best system is definitely Yow, because the front truck spring system is very solid and you can ride it really aggressively. You can also lock it with a screw and make it into a regular cruiser on the fly, which I personally never do because pushing feels harder than carving for me.

      I bought a Z-Flex Banana Train Surfskate about 6 months ago, and I love it! It uses the Waterborne system. 31" deck with just the right concave & kick for me. What I love about Waterborne is that it seems like the most "surfy" option that still is stable enough to allow for comfortable pushing when you absolutely have no other option. The only downside I think it may have is that it's a bit heavier up front than some other designs. Since then, I also picked up a Penny Surfskate (also Waterborne) for my son. It's perfect for him, a little short in wheelbase for me, but still super fun and a great low-cost option at $159.

    Just saw one kid at the pumptrack we go to in the Netherlands with one pocket knife last week. Looked like an alien in between the Carvers, Yows and NKX that we usually see there. .. Boy that kid was quick on it, and he was flying over some of the edges of the track, literally. His dad had some rounds as well, and it really looked like a smooth board to ride.

    Ever tried gullwing sidewinder 2's? Gotta say, dialing those things in takes some work, you adjust all the urethane, picot cups and bushings! But once you have those dialed in, with some of your favorite squishy wheels for grip or 80a something wheels for some slip... Very turny trucks!! Highly recommend a moderately flexy board, like a loaded in the correct flex. Mostly designed for pumping and crazy turns, I found a certain driftiness feeling to them. If I was told I had to slalom through some crap to get to the gas station, that'd be the trucks I'd want! In your quest for a surfy skate, I feel you'd be remiss to not at least test the sidewinders.
    You two keep slaying these vids, i'm lovin' the uploads you do!

      Interesting, that does change things a bit. LY does so much r&d if they want to be in the space I am sure we will continue to see improvements in their surf skate line.

    Nice reviews mate, keep it up! Throwing another one out there if you're keen on the surf skate - I've got one from the Globe Onshore line, uses Revenge II trucks. They're a bit different from the smoothstar style trucks, draw a different line and have a different grip. Also has an anti wheel bite stop. Worth checking out if you can get your hands on one.

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yup you can, but if it's a larger wheelbase, you won't be able to pump as effectively

  • @jessaie-detre-chretien
    @jessaie-detre-chretien 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    The whole point of this kind of board is that you can actually *push it* and for long distances you don't want to surfskate during the whole trip. I personally have a Dinghy with c5 mini trucks, they are tighter than CX4 but I love them for that very reason, more turny than the usual surfskate but stable 👍

    Yeah, I feel like the concave thing with big feet really depends on personal preference though. My board has a pretty aggressive concave, I'm a size 12, but the concave is just the right size to either lock in the ball of my foot or hang my heel.

    Thank you SOOO much! I'm a huge LY fan and will continue to be. I've been contemplating getting a Surf Skate (which I've never tried) since I love surfing, but don't get to do it as often as I want, so I thought a surf skate could help scratch that itch. I already own a Dinghy and and ATV from LY, so I think I'm gonna skip on this "surf skate" and research the other ones, you mentioned.

    The Landyachtz surfskate line up seems like a mix between a surf skate and a long distance pump setup with the angle of the trucks. I'm really curious how that front truck would work for LDP. I've been getting into LDP recently and tweaking my setup a lot with the truck angles and risers. From what I see from others, a 60° front truck is ideal with the back truck being close to 10°. Kinda seems like what landyachtz made here. Though the wheelbase seems to be pretty short for LDP.

    • @concrete-waves
      @concrete-waves  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, I've never done ldp before, but will have to look more into it. Thanks for watching!

    • @acidicjew2242

      I’m into LDP and purchased the LY Butter knife for a cruiser with a little pumpability. It’s fun, and does what I wanted to do. The return to centre of the front truck is no good, out of the box, for efficient LDP.
      Fine and fun for a beer run. Maybe swapping in some harder more responsive bushings would help, but the established LDP trucks work so well I’ll likely not bother tinkering.

    Can we get a hamboards hst truck review? I've been interested in them for a while, but decided to get some forged kodiaks. I love them as they're prefect for downhill, however I'd like to give the hsts a shot in the future as they'll probably be a more fun cruiser truck. if you could test the different springs they have available (just black and gold I believe), it'd be very much appreciated!!
