@@StreetMonsterInnerCircles Yeah I only have the C7 which uses a spring mechanism over bushings in the CX. C7 is better if you want to use as a cruser for pumping longer range and CX is better if you want to use it as a surf trainer or go down steeper hills from what I understand.
Thanks so much for your high quality content! after watching your videos I was finally able to make a proper decision! that's my favourite channel out there!
The best system is definitely Yow, because the front truck spring system is very solid and you can ride it really aggressively. You can also lock it with a screw and make it into a regular cruiser on the fly, which I personally never do because pushing feels harder than carving for me.
I have a Dinghy and I was pretty close to buy this surfer one to give it a try. You save my pockets. It seems that out there are other better option. I am a huge fan of Landyachtz and hopefully in the future they will give us something better in regards the surfing-street experience that starts to pump up!! Great video thanks for doing it.

Ordered a magneto 44” longboard from amazon (I know not the highest quality haha) as it was relatively cheap and I’m just planning learning cruising around my neighborhood on flat ground lol. I’m looking forward to learning and have loved your channel! Awesome quality stuff man
You should check out one of the zflex cruisers. Seems like a nice, more budget, cruiser company. Bet that a good number of people would like to see a vid about them. I know I would. Keep up the good work man. Great vids!
I bought a Z-Flex Banana Train Surfskate about 6 months ago, and I love it! It uses the Waterborne system. 31" deck with just the right concave & kick for me. What I love about Waterborne is that it seems like the most "surfy" option that still is stable enough to allow for comfortable pushing when you absolutely have no other option. The only downside I think it may have is that it's a bit heavier up front than some other designs. Since then, I also picked up a Penny Surfskate (also Waterborne) for my son. It's perfect for him, a little short in wheelbase for me, but still super fun and a great low-cost option at $159.
Damn dude! This is a quality video, I thought you were some big million sub youtuber until I looked at your sub count. Good luck on your channel, I have a feeling you’re gonna grow big.
Absolutely love this channel! The quality and production is amazing. I hope to see videos on electric longboards/skateboards one day if that’s something you’d be interested in. There’s no real good channel out there for that scene.
Ever tried gullwing sidewinder 2's? Gotta say, dialing those things in takes some work, you adjust all the urethane, picot cups and bushings! But once you have those dialed in, with some of your favorite squishy wheels for grip or 80a something wheels for some slip... Very turny trucks!! Highly recommend a moderately flexy board, like a loaded in the correct flex. Mostly designed for pumping and crazy turns, I found a certain driftiness feeling to them. If I was told I had to slalom through some crap to get to the gas station, that'd be the trucks I'd want! In your quest for a surfy skate, I feel you'd be remiss to not at least test the sidewinders. You two keep slaying these vids, i'm lovin' the uploads you do!
Your videos are very well made and I’m no expert but I think you’re set up to be a very very successful TH-camr with how awesome and informative your videos are
Nice reviews mate, keep it up! Throwing another one out there if you're keen on the surf skate - I've got one from the Globe Onshore line, uses Revenge II trucks. They're a bit different from the smoothstar style trucks, draw a different line and have a different grip. Also has an anti wheel bite stop. Worth checking out if you can get your hands on one.
40 years old, never skated in my life (but I learned EUC 2 years ago and I use them daily now). This is the board I was looking into the most. I want to cruise around town, pavement cracks and holes are a thing here. I'm 170lbs, wide feet and I want a easy to carry cruiser. Would you say it's possible to learn on this thing?
Thanks for the review. It is about where I thought it would be. I think they should have taken a bigger risk on that front truck. This channel rocks, keep up the great work!
Interesting, that does change things a bit. LY does so much r&d if they want to be in the space I am sure we will continue to see improvements in their surf skate line.
Just saw one kid at the pumptrack we go to in the Netherlands with one pocket knife last week. Looked like an alien in between the Carvers, Yows and NKX that we usually see there. .. Boy that kid was quick on it, and he was flying over some of the edges of the track, literally. His dad had some rounds as well, and it really looked like a smooth board to ride. I will definitely have a go next time I see them. Awesome review, as always! 😉 Keep on riding !🤙
You should check their new surf life flippy. They’ve got sharp lipped wheels a little narrower trucks to make it a little more nimble but it’s still 9.5 inches wide. I think it’s be perfect with a waterborne adapter as well
Thanks for the review my Dingy reminds me of a cruiser turning into an atv as for boards man I love my Elephant street axe thing is a beast, but I have been curious about picking up and surfskate once again thank you for the info.

unbelievable content, love that everything in the surf skate area is covered on your channel - heading for a surf skate cruiser type board, like a carver 👍
Yeah, I feel like the concave thing with big feet really depends on personal preference though. My board has a pretty aggressive concave, I'm a size 12, but the concave is just the right size to either lock in the ball of my foot or hang my heel.
This was an amazing video, I’m trying to buy a dinghy Since I have a nickel board and this video sorta helped me lean more towards the dinghy since I was considering the pocket knife thanks man
These reviews are well done and they're helping me feel like I can make a more informed purchase. The amount of love and joy you put into these videos is also apparent. Keep it up, fellas!
The whole point of this kind of board is that you can actually *push it* and for long distances you don't want to surfskate during the whole trip. I personally have a Dinghy with c5 mini trucks, they are tighter than CX4 but I love them for that very reason, more turny than the usual surfskate but stable 👍
Great info on the Landyachtz surfskate. For the Carver, any reason you are not reviewing the C7 trucks? Would be great to see how it campares to the other spring based designs.
I have the C7 trucks but I only compared the CX trucks since it doesn't have a pivoting arm like the C7s. Eventually, I would love to do a video comparing the C7 & CX vs the other spring based designs. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!
Thanks so much for this video! I was debating between this and the penny high line as my first surfskate. I'm not a surfer but have had a lot of skating experience so I wanted the whole surfskate feel and will definitely be getting the penny. Love watching your content and congrats on 8.5K! Keep it up man🙌
Stoked to hear this. Yeah that was a solid choice and was my first surfskate. It's overall fun... especially for the price! Thanks for watching man, means a lot!
Just wondering if you’ve ever heard of playshion brand, they are growing pretty fast recently, me and my friends got freestyle boards a few years ago from them and we use them for moderate downhill around 40 mph and they work really good for being around 100 dollars (60 when we got them)
Dang really? I actually had them reach out and they wanted to send me some boards I think. But I didn't think they were a solid brand. I'll look more into them though
When we got them they where pretty sketchy and where almost exclusively sold off Amazon, but they’ve lasted years without anything getting damaged, worst that’s happened is the edges got worn down and the decal got scraped from going down curbs, would really like to see your take on it
@@concrete-waves I'm not thinking of a specific brand, just what a seasoned skater thinks about them in general. There are budget brands like meepo or wowgo and pricier ones like evolve
Its crazy how all these companies are dropping surfskates, I only have carvers. Do you enjoy other surfskates more than the carver? What are your thoughts?
It is crazy! And I enjoy my Carver for more mellow/ longer rides. I often rotate between my YOW & Smoothstar - they both have a more aggressive carve and that's just what I prefer. Really comes down to personal preference though
Nice review. Hope you'll do Hamboards next :) Wondering how Hamboards trucks feel compared to Smoothstar, Waterborne and Y.O.W. Best of luck to your channel
@@concrete-waves Thank you 😊 a channel already did an excellent n depth review of their trucks but from a longboarder's perspective. Yo, love the vids dude keep them coming. Also, you should do a review on the retrospec penny board, I kinda want one.
Thanks man! I actually compared the retrospec quip penny board to the real one in a previous video
No cap probably the best skateboard reviewer on youtube
Appreciate you!
Just wondering if you’ve ever heard of playshion brand, they are growing pretty fast recently, me and my friends got freestyle boards a few years ago from them and we use them for moderate downhill around 40 mph and they work really good for being around 100 dollars (60 when we got them)
Yea... I don’t recommend them. I don’t think that their quality is the best. You should look for higher end brands
Dang really? I actually had them reach out and they wanted to send me some boards I think. But I didn't think they were a solid brand. I'll look more into them though
When we got them they where pretty sketchy and where almost exclusively sold off Amazon, but they’ve lasted years without anything getting damaged, worst that’s happened is the edges got worn down and the decal got scraped from going down curbs, would really like to see your take on it
Picked up the Butter and it’s to nice to ride.
What’s the best surf skate I can buy?
My favorite is YOW. But the most expensive are the waterborne carbon completes
Hey dude I would really appreciate it if you did a video on electric longboards
Would love to do that in the future, however I don't have the funds right now. What electric longboards are you thinking about?
@@concrete-waves I'm not thinking of a specific brand, just what a seasoned skater thinks about them in general. There are budget brands like meepo or wowgo and pricier ones like evolve
What do you think about Miller surfskate ? I have the new mundaka.
Nice video :).
Thank you Mike!
Mike is a legend! So are you.. thanks for watching!
Will be doing the Hamboard Pescadito in 2-ish weeks
@@concrete-waves Thank you 😊 a channel already did an excellent n depth review of their trucks but from a longboarder's perspective. Would be great to see it from a surfer's point of view. 🤙 I have Waterborne trucks, is it enough for surf training or is there a significant difference if I experience riding Smoothstar? Y.O.W.?
Oh heck just woke up and now watching this video
Haha awesome. Thanks for watching as always!
Can you do a review of the landyachtz stratus 40” and 46”?
Maybe in the future. Currently have some other boards lined-up. Thanks for the suggestion
My god this so cool. Thanks for replying 🤩
