They recently dropped this surfskate and since I’m a fan of the brand, you know I had to cop it.
Not only that, but I’ve been testing out different types of surfskates over the last 6ish months, so it’s safe to say I have a pretty solid idea of the competition.
I honestly can’t tell you how many hours I’ve spent riding my, YOW, Smoothstar, Waterborne, SwellTech, Carver, and Hamboard.
So, the question is… does the Landyachtz surfskate actually hold up against the others or is it just a gimmick?

I am thinking about buying the bigger one, butter walnut but I am wondering how heavy it is
@@jessaie-detre-chretien I have the butter walnut and have for a few months now. I have a friend with the pocketknife and all of my friends personally like my board better. It is very easy to carve and pump, I would say easier than the pocketknife.
@@jasebrown5983 yes that's the perfect size and wheelbase I think. But apparently it weighs 3,2kg that's very heavy 🤔

Nice reviews mate, keep it up! Throwing another one out there if you're keen on the surf skate - I've got one from the Globe Onshore line, uses Revenge II trucks. They're a bit different from the smoothstar style trucks, draw a different line and have a different grip. Also has an anti wheel bite stop. Worth checking out if you can get your hands on one.
Absolutely love this channel! The quality and production is amazing. I hope to see videos on electric longboards/skateboards one day if that’s something you’d be interested in. There’s no real good channel out there for that scene.

Ordered a magneto 44” longboard from amazon (I know not the highest quality haha) as it was relatively cheap and I’m just planning learning cruising around my neighborhood on flat ground lol. I’m looking forward to learning and have loved your channel! Awesome quality stuff man

This review has motivated me to ask about sending my Landyachtz walnut lines back from whence it came (newly ordered, hasn't arrived yet!)
Going to try to get a hold of a Carver with C7 instead (massively sold out in UK!). Had buyers remorse for the past 24 hours.
It's when you said pumping isn't as effective on the Landyachtz than some other slatesurfs out there.
Still not totally sure what's best!

I just picked up a used Carver C7 for $125 used. Very fun board. I also have a razer ripsurf, electric longboard, pennyboard and OneWheel XR.
@@MrRelys is the Carver C7 and CX that much of a difference? Not sure why the C7 sold out so fast over the CX --- maybe everyone likes the orange wheels?
@@StreetMonsterInnerCircles Yeah I only have the C7 which uses a spring mechanism over bushings in the CX. C7 is better if you want to use as a cruser for pumping longer range and CX is better if you want to use it as a surf trainer or go down steeper hills from what I understand.
40 years old, never skated in my life (but I learned EUC 2 years ago and I use them daily now).
This is the board I was looking into the most. I want to cruise around town, pavement cracks and holes are a thing here.
I'm 170lbs, wide feet and I want a easy to carry cruiser. Would you say it's possible to learn on this thing?

I have a Dinghy and I was pretty close to buy this surfer one to give it a try. You save my pockets. It seems that out there are other better option. I am a huge fan of Landyachtz and hopefully in the future they will give us something better in regards the surfing-street experience that starts to pump up!! Great video thanks for doing it.

Agreed, but I also forgot to mention that Carver skateboards has a few patents that prevents a lot of surfskate designs
Interesting, that does change things a bit. LY does so much r&d if they want to be in the space I am sure we will continue to see improvements in their surf skate line.
Hey I have a penny surfskate and am thinking of getting a cruiser deck because the penny one is too small. Whit size board would you recommend?
I would suggest looking at a 32"-34" deck length with a 16-18 wheelbase. You can always tweak the wheelbase to your liking though
Hey man I was wondering I’m a pretty tall guy at 5’10 and I’m a size 12 in shoes would the pocket knife be a good fit or should I go with the bigger option?
Personally I would suggest going for the Butter Lines for that extra wheelbase, but either would prob be fine
Looking to get myself a surf skate, but can you still skate them as just like a cruiser board that you could bomb hills on? Or would the front truck restrict that because of speed wobbles? (Just in general) Thanks
I wouldn't use a surfskate as something to bomb hills with. Since most are being made with a spring adapter, its too sketchy in my opinion

Great info on the Landyachtz surfskate. For the Carver, any reason you are not reviewing the C7 trucks? Would be great to see how it campares to the other spring based designs.
I have the C7 trucks but I only compared the CX trucks since it doesn't have a pivoting arm like the C7s. Eventually, I would love to do a video comparing the C7 & CX vs the other spring based designs. Thanks for watching, really appreciate it!

Thank you SOOO much! I'm a huge LY fan and will continue to be. I've been contemplating getting a Surf Skate (which I've never tried) since I love surfing, but don't get to do it as often as I want, so I thought a surf skate could help scratch that itch. I already own a Dinghy and and ATV from LY, so I think I'm gonna skip on this "surf skate" and research the other ones, you mentioned.
