How does this video not have millions of views? Without a doubt the most extraordinary footage of a ship in heavy seas anywhere. I’m so grateful to those who put it together and made it public.
copperpot I agree with you about how sensational this video of the French War ship going through Rough Seas, a real picture of beauty in it's own way, should have millions of views like you stated.
its the french frigate "Latouche Treville"....legendary french frigate...acdc "hells bells"...that ship makes me respect to french navy...the captain and crew must be from devil takin
@@sampathsuranga8284 not really. Most likely this was shot by a helicopter, way before the drone era. Found online: > This video is taken from Océans, a French documentary directed by Jacques Perrin and Jacques Cluzaud whose shooting began in 2004 and then presented in theatres in 2010. Actually, it's a seasickness test.
No one claimed this was special ? It's just interesting footage of a ship in a storm... If you aren't a sailor or have never been on a ship before this is really interesting...

Now, THATS what I call a recruiting commercial.
Moving alone in the dangerous ocean, background music suits, thrilling undulation.

This is not the Latouche Treville.

great pictures!
Solo noi marinai conosciamo queste emozioni....
Looks like the smoke deck might be secured
Just think of trying to land the helo after the video taken!!!
This needs heart of stone

Hello, is anyone know the displacement of the D646.
This is just the perfect setup for a "your mom" joke.
Anyway the displacement of the ship is about 4500 tons fully loaded.
Can anyone tell me where this ship was sailing? I am looking for videos of ships at the drake passage
Off Ushant, Brittany, France.

Does anyone from where / what kind of ship the video was recorded? Was it a helicopter given the different angles and positions?
Yes it was recorded with an helicopter
The ship is the French destroyer Latouche-Treville.
The helicopter recording was a Super Frelon from the French Navy.
