My wife got me the 3D pulse headset for my birthday back in March. I run on a treadmill almost every day with then on, and watch Netflix or TH-cam. So far they are holding up great. The platinum headset I have for my PS4 have small cracks on the cups in less then a year of owing them.
it’s probably cuz there were designed around being futuristic and unique. without the two-tone it loses a lot of that and it just looks a little bit off

I usually wanna avoid black because it looks so dirty from dust after 2 days. Goes for everything black. White just gets dirty too. That's why their original grey colour scheme was so perfect and needs a comeback (EDIT: grey colour scheme from PS1 era I mean)
Unfortunately i had this headset at launch and i was a bit disappointed with the overall sound, i thought they were not loud enough i bought a pair of Astro A20's and absolutely love them! Great video as always Mystic cheers. 👍
Regarding the whole EQ thing that only works with the Pulse headset, if you have a third party headphone you might not be screwed depending on what you buy, some headphones store the EQ settings you pick on device like Sony's WF-1000XM5s. You use their mobile app to set up the EQ but once it's set, it sticks no matter what device you use it on.
The secret to good sound quality is to use in-ears. Shure s215 has been my goto for over half a decade now and I've never heard an over-ear that sounds better or has been soundscape. Its more clear and har overall more depth and bass. Playing Returnal was an otherworldly experience.
Dude i use sure se215 the clear blue ones i have had them for 7 years and only replaced the cable once. They really professional grade equipment for sound.....and sound great for gaming
I have a question. Have you checked the sound quality for watching blu rays on your PS5? I use my PS5 in my room with a pc setup. I'm curious if the sound is just as good for movies
I just got these and I gotta say they comfortable asfff. I got these mostly for rainbow six and story mode games but the Sound quality is perfect especially adjusting the sound to your personal preference. Price is great for the value your getting. 10/10
they are, but 7x would have been the better choice because they also work with the xbox and ps5. 7P only works with ps5 console wise and not xbox. Both are virtually the same except this.
@Marcello Lindo didnt know that… the 7x dongle comes with a simple toggle on it for xbox or usb so no having to mess with extra stuff to switch back and forth

My friend and I had the steel series arctis 7 and we both returned it lol. It's not as good as it seems. Everyone just overhyped it. I'm sticking with my hyper cloud alpha.
Due to sonny not fixing their mic/chat output situation, and that they botched the audio for the PS4 camera, I was in the marker for a headset for gaming. The microphone quality was a top priority but sound as well. Had considered the pulse because #sony but after reading many reviews I ended up with HyperX Cloud Alphas. More compatibility, sort of wireless when plugging to the dual sense with no battery, it's hella confortable and the mic is incredible.
The cushion on my Pulse 3D started peeling off pretty badly these past few weeks. :( Thankfully, it was still covered by the one-year warranty, so I sent it to Sony and should be getting it fixed or a replacement soon.
Hey great video, I think I’m about to pick up a set of these but before I do, I remember you saying in a previous video that you were using the old Pulse Elites for a while, have you tried comparing those to the new pulse 3D on ps5? If so, how does the 3D audio compare between the two?
I'm more thinking that reason for Sony's actions against dbrand is to secure their own sale of limited edition consoles, because Sony knowns that those are guaranteed success even for premium price and they don't want anyone to mess with that. How they probably see things is that they can either sell official black PS5 for +500$ or they can allow third party companies sell their black faceplates for 30$ for same effect and not even have a 1$ from that sell.
@@lolcat In all likelihood, Sony preventing third party sellers is more them protecting their patent. It's still entirely possible they plan on doing official custom plates, but I can see Sony preferring to sell a full priced PS5 with colored plates rather than $20 plates. As we saw with the Xbox 360, if Sony makes custom plates they risk sitting on massive amounts of inventory and just hoping they sell eventually. With custom PS5s those are all but guaranteed to sell.
This looks cool but I like my white version they fit on my head perfectly just one problem is putting it over the ear other than that great audio love the 3d audio aspect. Can't wait to see the cosmic red version.

Got a pair of these headphones when they came out within a week they where sprayed black was a pain taping them up but worth it for the look after I painted them
@@TattooedDad87 used 2 coats of matt black quick drying paint manufactured by paint factory, that was months ago and they still look great with no signs of chipping 👍 as long as you tape them up well everything will be ok

Sony direct never shipped my headset even though they touted launch day delivery. I contacted support and they were like wait til Monday to see if it ships. I currently use the platinums headset which is perfectly fine,but I really wanted to test the differences for myself. Especially with the new EQ settings. It's a shame that Sony won't port the platinum headset app to PS5.
when i use wireless dongle then both speaker of headset working fine, but if i connect with wire then only left side speaker working. is it made like that or my headset is faulty
I think the ps4 gold v2 should also be supported for eq support. Those were still fairly new. Plus they have that capability on ps4 also already. Wich makes it pretty stupid that they havent included it on their own old headsets. Still i know they want to sell ya new stuff. But the quality of those headsets is great too they last way better than the V1 did.

This also depends on how you take care of your stuff. Clearly you don't throw them around or leave them on the floor for days which helps keeping them clean even a year later. But not all of us take of our things the same, some after a year have electronics that look like they've been thru a war. Lol
I'm pretty sure the MX4's are better. Especially since the launch of the PS5 they have managed to update it with software that also allows 3D audio to be used even with TV speakers.
I bought this headset around launch time and unfortunately they were sold out so I needed up paying $30 over msrp because I really wanted them and I honestly love them but when I play with other people online they tell me my voice is a little static so not sure if it’s the headset or an internet issue but I also do have great internet so I’m guessing it’s the headset itself. I do plan on upgrading to a different headset next year since I only get those static issues maybe 2 times out of 10 times that I play so its not a huge issue and most of the time I play solo as well and I like the audio quality. The black ones do look pretty cool!
Can I get any advice/tip on why when I go wireless with these headphones it is EXTREMELY quiet almost like volume is turned all the way down? Even though on the headset itself it shows the volume is all the way up. It was loud good quality then all of a sudden nothing is there a setting somewhere that I can adjust or something

I've had the Pulse 3D headset since last October (pre-ordered them with the PS5 but they sent them early) and while I do like the sound when it comes to playing games and party chatting (even though it's far from the best sounding headset I've used) I don't care much for the comfort, which is probably not its fault. My ears are a little weird, so these have a hybrid on-ear-over-ear fusion thing going on where it seems like the cushions want to sit on my ears but the opening is large enough to shove my ears inside so it's trying to do both and it's just weird. I can wear them for a couple hours of playing but if I play for longer periods I have to switch to another headset eventually. Not a deal-breaker, just unfortunate.
I don't think I'd buy Sony headsets again after they refused to repair my ps4 gold headset a while back. It cracked around the headband which was a common failure point at the time and it was obviously the cheap material but they accused me of doing it instead and denied service even after paying to ship to them. It was still within warranty too under a year I believe. It's like if they won't stand behind their products when something they did wrong then what's it worth?
I just can't believe they still take up a dedicated usb slot with the dongle. I keep having to delay hooking my PSVR up because it takes up 2 USB (and stops me getting 120 hz... combined with my external drives, and needing an extra USB for pairing (firmware updates etc), I just can't get over how tight it is with just Sony peripherals
I tried these headsets for a day.. coming from the PS4 Platinum headset, upgraded to the steelseries Arctis Pro for a few years, it cracked so I thought I'd try these. Noticeable downgrade, for myself with audio quality and my friends complained about my mic even tho I didn't tell them I changed anything. Noise isolation is non-existent on these, if I scratch my arm I somehow hear it better than if I didn't have the headset on. And 3D audio is better than stereo, but virtual surround sound is still way better to me. I returned it and got the Astro A50 the next day.
@@CyborgSodaCollects I believe it was just before the update that brought that. But that wouldn't have helped me because VSS gives you a completely different sound space from stereo and 3d audio. Plus the noise isolation didn't seem like it could be improved
@@Chr15Payne the VSS on the Platinums didn't really seem to make a difference to me. I know sound can be very subjective. Idk if they can receive updates to iron out any issues. I didn't even know the platinums had noise cancelation. Do the Astros have VSS? I saw a hack online to put a 2200 mah battery in the platinums. They come stock with a 800 mah pack.
Pretty disappointed with mine that I got at launch. The padding on the left ear has started to unravel and the filter between my actual ear and the speaker has come off...Never seen that in my life. But yea, I keep using it 'cause I don't see the difference when playing. I wanted to buy the new black one after I noticed that but it's still a 100 bucks. Prefer to buy games instead for that price.

It's amazing how all these accessories lose any sense of personality and character when they get changed to an all black color scheme.
The Pulse Headset feels rather cheap in my opinion especially with the earcups being so shallow

Mine is good sounding. I just feel the quality is lacking, I’m delicate with my stuff also but the leather type ear cushion part is peeling.

You would have to purchase a Bluetooth transmitter, I use the Creative-BT2 with my Sony MX4’s.

I've had the Pulse 3D headset since last October (pre-ordered them with the PS5 but they sent them early) and while I do like the sound when it comes to playing games and party chatting (even though it's far from the best sounding headset I've used) I don't care much for the comfort, which is probably not its fault. My ears are a little weird, so these have a hybrid on-ear-over-ear fusion thing going on where it seems like the cushions want to sit on my ears but the opening is large enough to shove my ears inside so it's trying to do both and it's just weird. I can wear them for a couple hours of playing but if I play for longer periods I have to switch to another headset eventually. Not a deal-breaker, just unfortunate.
Is the headset loud enough and good for movies .?

I wanted these but I went with the WH- 1000MX4 because I listen to music and I can pair them with my PS5.
I don't think I'd buy Sony headsets again after they refused to repair my ps4 gold headset a while back. It cracked around the headband which was a common failure point at the time and it was obviously the cheap material but they accused me of doing it instead and denied service even after paying to ship to them. It was still within warranty too under a year I believe.
It's like if they won't stand behind their products when something they did wrong then what's it worth?
I just can't believe they still take up a dedicated usb slot with the dongle. I keep having to delay hooking my PSVR up because it takes up 2 USB (and stops me getting 120 hz... combined with my external drives, and needing an extra USB for pairing (firmware updates etc), I just can't get over how tight it is with just Sony peripherals

I tried these headsets for a day.. coming from the PS4 Platinum headset, upgraded to the steelseries Arctis Pro for a few years, it cracked so I thought I'd try these. Noticeable downgrade, for myself with audio quality and my friends complained about my mic even tho I didn't tell them I changed anything.
Noise isolation is non-existent on these, if I scratch my arm I somehow hear it better than if I didn't have the headset on. And 3D audio is better than stereo, but virtual surround sound is still way better to me. I returned it and got the Astro A50 the next day.
Did you try out the new EQ settings for the pulse?
@@CyborgSodaCollects I believe it was just before the update that brought that. But that wouldn't have helped me because VSS gives you a completely different sound space from stereo and 3d audio. Plus the noise isolation didn't seem like it could be improved
@@Chr15Payne the VSS on the Platinums didn't really seem to make a difference to me. I know sound can be very subjective. Idk if they can receive updates to iron out any issues. I didn't even know the platinums had noise cancelation. Do the Astros have VSS? I saw a hack online to put a 2200 mah battery in the platinums. They come stock with a 800 mah pack.
I wonder if Sony would drop a higher end headset for the PS5? Like $150 maybe🤷🏽♂️
Pretty disappointed with mine that I got at launch. The padding on the left ear has started to unravel and the filter between my actual ear and the speaker has come off...Never seen that in my life. But yea, I keep using it 'cause I don't see the difference when playing. I wanted to buy the new black one after I noticed that but it's still a 100 bucks. Prefer to buy games instead for that price.
I always wanted to go wireless but I worry about the battery life long term. I think for now I’ll stay with my Astro A40s.
