Born and raised in Japan. I have never seen a Japanese who, born and raised in Japan, speaks English as well and fluently as you. I am amazed!!
Japanese Ammo with Misa, please check it out.
There is a dude, who made a song which was going like "ichi juu hyaku sen, ichiman, juuman, hyakuman, senman..." That's why i know how to count in japanese 😁
heiakim?
Fun fact: English used to have a word for 10,000 and you probably all know it. It's "myriad". It fell out of use and became a synonym of "plethora".
Great vid as always! I'm still new to Japanese but numbers don't seem too hard compared to some other languages. :)
Moreover isn't myriad ancient Greek?
@@stuart5236 Yep, and you can find that very word in all the Latin languages, as well as some of the Germanic languages. In all of them the meaning changed from 10,000 to "a lot". Most likely people back in the day didn't really count past 10,000 very often, so it made sense to have a word for it as well as using it to describe a large number of something (just like we'd say "I have a million things to do"). With bigger numbers becoming more common, the initial meaning became kind of useless and only its metaphorical one remained. Only a few Asian languages kept using 10,000 as a unit, as far as I'm aware.
My problem has always been my speed. The more I practice, the faster I get but it feels like there must be some other ways to increase my recall speed.
さやかさん you deserve it. Wish you the best. Thank you for teaching us Japanese

That’s only about memorizing pronunciations for Chinese Japanese learners, cuz we use exactly the same counting system and even literally the same Kanji if u are Taiwanese using traditional Chinese characters.

Great Job. As a number fan I had to wait till my favourites came in my Chinese A1 course because they came last. It's interesting that you use packages of four Digits.
