Nice presentation! Couple of ideas. I can not remember why, but sometimes, if you turn the clock set knob counter clock wise a little, you can get the clock to come alive. Additionally, don’t remember which carb you have. But the original (Rochester) had a small electrical component attached to throttle linkage that assisted in maintaining normal idle when the ac came on. If you still have the original carb, start with that item. If some other type of carb, you probably need that item attached. Good luck!
@@c3sgarage if I remember correctly, the head piece screws in and out. I think…..it’s been a very long time. And I have a Holley now and pulled off the ac system.
There is a small solenoid on the carburettor that increases the idle when the AC is turned on. I think it is adjustable but I have never tried to adjust mine. The idle is supposed to increase because you are adding load on the engine with the AC and that could stall the engine. According to the internet it was also used as part of the emission system on these cars for at least some of the years. On my 1980 the solenoid actuates when I turn the AC on and off. If you absolutely don`t want the increase in idle you could just remove or unplug the solenoid on the side of the carburettor. But there is a reason it is there.

Hey man!
I know exactly what you are talking about, and I have the original carb, however, I cant seem to figure how to tweak it.
I’ll have to try the clock to see if it comes alive lol otherwise, that would he another project haha

You know, I thought about doing it but I didn’t want to mess it up, Ill give it a try!
Whats the worst it can happen hahaha😰

What was your oil pressure gauge doing? Mine is acting up starting a zero and maxing out randomly.
My fuel gauge has stopped working
Have you checked the ground?
