What a great podcast! Halloween is the only time I get lots of guests at my door. A great opportunity to train and yes, Poppy and I have been preparing for the flood of kids coming to our door. My remote PetGeek arrives today and we will start working with it, training a polite response to knocking and the doorbell. We have been walking near and by the big, yard Halloween displays at the big box stores. Poppy is quite intrigued! To add an extra layer of safety when I open the door for trick or treaters, I will have baby gate across the threshold, to help keep things stress free for Poppy and the kids too.
Going to jump right into your prep training ! Thanks, Susan! 😀

Really helpful advice for getting puppy used to life. I think is important for a number of reasons to be able to put things on them and they be cool with it.
I have an agility question: Do you use separate commands for left and right, vs left and right jump? (For example left for both turn left and jump left?) or body language?

Love, love, love this!❤ Susan, if you had to choose a large or giant dog, that will live with you and be trained by you, which breed would you choose? We know you like terriers, borders, mixed breeds and bull dogs, but what about those large and giant breeds?🐾

I took my Maggie trick or treating with my kids at 7 months old to socialize her. She is so mellow I thought it was a good idea. Someone in costume intending to give my kids a good natured scaring jumped at us with arms outstretched while yelling and growling. Bad lesson for both me and my dog.

This is probably the only reason I’m glad that Halloween isn’t really a thing in my country. At least one stressor, I don’t have to worry about

As always this was very helpful. Really enjoyed watching you shape your dogs for wearing costumes.
One subject I am interested in is what to do after a dog fight and how to beak it up. In this case our 9yr old dog attacked our 3yr old. one moment they were fine and the next they weren't. no physical injuries to the dogs except emotional to the younger one. And I sustained an injury when attempting to grab a collar and missed. Big Ouch! how does one help the attacked dog regain confidence. Thank you!😍

Awesome video as always! I need your help more than anything with our dog. He’s a year old Aussie, pit Pyrenees. He will not stop using my walls as his scratching post. Leave it, no you name it doesn’t work. We’ve replaced Sheetrock 5 times. He’ll do it when you’re standing there for no reason at all. I’m at my wits end and don’t in what to do. Sprays don’t work. Help!

Hi @desireep4128 we'd recommend a vet visit to check skin, for allergies, pain etc. Our video on dog behavior has a list of potential reasons dogs behave the way they do and it's got all the things to consider broken down into a list for you to help - th-cam.com/video/Tce597xfqA4/w-d-xo.html
