    On the old form you could put a 0 for more tax to be taken out and a 1 for less tax. How do you put your allowances on the new form?

    • @kimperes5987
      @kimperes5987 2 ปีที่แล้ว +18

      @Eric Paul Exactly! IRS doesn't want us to control how much they withhold. I need my money each payday; not give IRS an interest free loan of my money til April.

      @@jacquelinekelsey608 my thoughts exactly like the person above. I’ve always put down at least 1 for myself so is that how it works? I started my new job making much more and H.R. couldn’t help me and it frustrated me so I put 0 and my manager was like “your going to get taxed heavy”

If I used to entered 9 where it said add up all the lines, how do enter the equivalent of that in this new form?????? Seems like they purposely made this new form in a draconian manner to remove the previous method I just mentioned.

    This Video Explains exactly what’s in the Title. Does not teach how to play with allowances and in some states/territories, allowances are no longer permitted on W-4. If you want to maximize income and pay less taxes, you would need to find a way on your own or another video. I myself do not see a refund come tax time, but what works for me, won’t work for everyone as my circumstances aren’t special, but different and I make it work for me. Best advice is keep your eyes open for any opportunity that may arise in your life that you can take advantage of to help decrease Government theft ahem taxes.

    Question: Married Filing Separately and starting new job in same calendar year. Anything different than following this method? Still 1 job just going from one company to another, Spouse works but filing separately. Previously always skipped steps and signed at 5.

    Great explanation!! If filled out the exact way you noted, then the government takes out exactly what you need to take out on each check, so that you owe nothing during tax season? Just want to make sure this is the outcome of the way you explained this W4.

    Isn’t there a place to write 0 or 1 for allowances? I do not see it for 2021. Has it been removed? Because they are taking max withholdings from me.

    I was wondering is there a way to still claim Single 0 no dependents so I want the maximum taken I know on the older forms it gave us the option to put a number and now with the new forms I don’t see that option. I want more taxes taken out so I don’t have to pay when tax season comes around please advise. Thank you!

    Hi. Thank you for your video.
    I started a new job this week, meanwhile I'm on vacation for the other.
    My intention is to take a leave of absence (personal reason without payment) for the old one in order to see if I can't get the position in the new one because at the moment the offer is not for permanent job. But there's a good chance to get the job and it's better than the old one.
    If I can't get the leave of absence I will have to quit the old job.
    But... meanwhile... I have to fill the W4 for this new job, should I put two jobs in the W4, I mean, I repeat, I'm not going to receive money from the old job because I would be on leave of absence or I'll be gone from that job.
    The thing is that I probably I will receive two paychecks in one week, that's the only week that I would have to checks (the vacation week from the old job and the fist week for the new one) This would happen next week.
    I know, it's messy, I didn't think of this at the moment.
    So, I don't know what to do.
    Thanks.

      Use the estimator and enter it as if nothing will change. And when it does, run the estimator again and resubmit to the employer. Check out my newest W4 video that I posted the other day. It's much more detailed.

    • @TravisSickle
      @TravisSickle  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      At the end of the day, the goal is to withhold the total amount of your tax liability so you don't owe anything and don't get a refund. That is the goal.

    If im single do I automatically have federal taxes taken out of my check?

    • @bluezy710
      @bluezy710 ปีที่แล้ว

      Anybody who is a W2 employee gets their federal and state tax automatically taken out of their paycheck. If you don't file this W4 form, the company will take the very maximum amount of taxes out of your paycheck every time.

  • @SJones-kk5lg

    Why update W4 with current employer if you get a 2nd job. Wouldn't you just file another W4 with the 2nd employer?
