great job but the flow rate is going to change depending on the actual pump you use. I designed a similar system and my pump was pumping faster than the water could exit the barrels even with 2 inch pvc pipe. The barrels were overflowing so I had to install a pvc ball valve and slightly close it to slow down the pump flow rate to where it was perfect.

Hi Gary, i suspect you need to put a larger volume of water through faster, i.e. from your pump set above the setting you intend to use for a true test. Also there is currently no allowance for the variables such as media, blanket weed and faeces which will slow the flow once into the system, increasing the size of the interconnecting pipework will also make a large difference 🤓🤓

Looks great Gary, but concerned the out flows will become overwhelmed! It was nearly to the top on just a hose pipe flow. Unless your going to run your Vari very low. As previously discussed, let us know yeah?

The filter design is very neat and compact. However, the first stage as flow settler is not sufficient to block a lot of fish mock. Therefore, I think you should incorporate Eazypod idea to have k1 media buffer in a separator container and attach to the outlet to block more fish waste and use aerator for backwash.
