Im working on a e91 n54 swap and really not loving manual for my daily anymore. To bad youre not located in Ontario Id love to experience the 8hp before I make the jump.
you could always test drive one perhaps? the 8hp is hands-down an amazing transmission. not only is it good, it's quick when you put it in the right mode and start driving harder. I imagine the swap would be easy for you!
@kkarnis3791 the cluster lagged so when it said 5k it was at 7k, if I hit redline it would misfire and shut off port. don't need to wrap the tach to get a feeling of how fast the thing is.
most of the time if agree with this choice. but. the 8hp45 is nearly identical to the 50, the N55 and B58 make good torque and power too, they hold up perfectly fine. honestly, with an xHP you'd be perfectly OK with an 8hp45. 😎
th-cam.com/video/DWcDnfrBeAs/w-d-xo.html Here's the link to the video that went a little more in depth in regards to the transmission and how's it been doing with a single turbo
@@Twittenberg thank you. Currently I'm at 550 crank torque, it will be at 600 wheel torque with the next tune. Think with an 8hp75 I should use a reduce torque? When you increase the torque reduction, is that only during shifting or at all times?
yeah, I realize I dropped the ball huge on that one. It's a 3" single exhaust back to a Megan carbon N1 style muffler. It uses a vibrant ultra quiet resonator inline for drone.
@@tony.nextlevelrides no worries. I'm always interested in single exit setups on these cars since they aren't as common. And some people swear that's the only way to go with a big turbo inline 6.
@black_n5492 technically the internal diameter is less with a 3" single exhaust than the factory dual exhaust, not sure how much it's affecting this car as its still making good power. I'd be curious to compare the two on a dyno or try to calculate the back pressure of both of the.on the other hand, it does sound waayyy better.
@@tony.nextlevelrides yea. A comparison would be cool. Do agree it sounds nice. I’ve got a single turbo n54 with a 3.5” vibrant exhaust with muffler and resonator and I love how it sounds.
Hi Tony, I’m looking for M-sport bumpers for my e92. Did your car come with them or are they aftermarket? If so where is a good place to buy them? I’m also located in Calgary!
this car came with them. for body work, I'm not completely certain where is best to order some. shipping from the states is rough. you can try; extremeparts.ca & partify.ca
it shows the gauges that you set up, you can set warnings where if the values go into an unsafe range, they change color. at the same time, it will data log each time you accelerate hard.
seems to be the norm for a lot of vehicles and builds now a days. most modern turbos aren't easily damaged with the absence of a blow off valve. N55, B58, etc. don't have blow off valves and do great. personally, I'd always run one if it came with one.
Tony what car did you guys get the gear shifter trim cover out of, and did you have any fitment issues between the front of the DCT shifter and the front of the trim cover? Also do you have the Mode button connected to inputs on the CANformance control module to change between Sport and Sport+? Thank you!
the trim is also from an E chassis M3, fit without issue but I'll get Taylor to comform. He did get Cantcu to code in the MODE button as well. works like a charm! (like factory lol).
The mode button is just a relay trigger that send a signal to the cantcu to activate sport mode +. In the newest update for cantcu you can do this now without any trigger setup simply by using the shifter itself and going into sport mode. In regards to the fitment it was great. There's a little plastic cage on the shifter that's remove able. I just removed it and gave all the clearance needed
@@tony.nextlevelrides nice, good to hear this. I’ve somehow gone through 2 transfer cases over the last 12yrs of ownership and it has been a concern as I have started to build
you can run the same size (squared) easily. The overall diameter has to be very close or identical, I try to keep it below 1%. A squared setup is not a problem at all. wheels are 19x9" squared. et42 I believe with 12/15mm spacers.
He took him redlining personal 😂😂😂😂
nobody wants to deal with a broken N54 😅
Fire build!! Might wanna dremel out the hood vents and at least make them functional. Could use all the cooling u can get.
it's on the list of things to do!
@@tony.nextlevelridesthe endless list 😂 So envious to see a father son build wish Ida had a dad into cars with me!!
jb4 is absolutely not the best way to do port when reflex exists.
debatable.
Yea not sure where they got that from. Smh
exactly reflex+ is no joke
@@tyleryu4643 love mine!! Being able to switch gas easily is so awesome
@@tony.nextlevelrideslol theres literally nothing to debate. Reflex+ is basically a standalone. Its integrated in the canbus.
I have an E46 with a PTE 6466 on the M54b30 and am in the process of installing a Dodge 8hp70. This is giving me some motivation to get it done!
motivation is hard to find but glad we're helping, even a little bit!
Awesome, awesome build guys!
✅ Ticked every box!
Love it 😍
Headlights are mint 👌🏾

I beat on it everyday. Doesn't beat on it in review. Bruh
oh, we did. there was too much traffic when we went though.

Curious how this cars still holding up?.?.?
it's been holding up fine!
Niceeee...can't wait till I do my 8hp swap...but I think it go with the 70 cause I'm staying twins and the low end torque is the killer
most of the time if agree with this choice. but. the 8hp45 is nearly identical to the 50, the N55 and B58 make good torque and power too, they hold up perfectly fine.
honestly, with an xHP you'd be perfectly OK with an 8hp45. 😎
@tony.nextlevelrides is that with torque limiting to keep it safe? I have a g series 8hp75 swapped 335d
@randyjones3846 we increased torque reduction with xHP on the single turbo e92, that's basically it. it loves it.

What purpose does the phone serve in front of the shifter? I've seen it on many e90's, but have not understood what they do beside showing gauges.
it shows the gauges that you set up, you can set warnings where if the values go into an unsafe range, they change color. at the same time, it will data log each time you accelerate hard.
Where you can buy the headlights?
these were custom built by bavgrupe

Any issues with the transfer case or front diff with the power you have?
nope! mind you we aren't dig racing it while launching hard
@@tony.nextlevelrides nice, good to hear this. I’ve somehow gone through 2 transfer cases over the last 12yrs of ownership and it has been a concern as I have started to build
@boxa87 strange, I've known them to be pretty tough unless you're dig racing the hell out of it. maybe it's just bad luck.
@@tony.nextlevelridesprobably my luck, as usual. Out of curiosity, did you go port because of actual fueling issues or just proactive?
@boxa87 it was proactive. helps support and take stress off the direct injection setup. helps run full e85.

it does pretty good!!
