    Do you torque anything to spec?

    Top bolt of the right caliper is gone. Why would you use a power tool if you know the screw is so soft?

    Keep up the good work and all the great videos man. I'm instantly a fan.

    Neat fork compression tool. I’m sure we’ll see it in action again.
    Bummer about the headlight, but that’s the way these wrecks can go. Looking forward to the fairings going on.
    I bet those GSXR logos can be found on partzilla or bike bandit. Kinda lame the fairings didn’t come with them, but like you said, get what you pay for. Good job!

      @@RKMotorsports sometimes the kits that come from china have to leave off the brand names/logos for customs reasons. If it says they were supposed to come with those logos, you might look for the stickers in the box again.

    Don’t all these bolts have torque specs?

  • @laz1go286
    @laz1go286 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Great stuff Rob!
    I kinda like the de-badged fairings.
    Make it look more clean overall.
    How come you use the impact driver to tighten bolts at assembly instead of a torque wrench?
    I think many bolts will be overtightened, especially if steel hardver goes into aluminum..

    • @RKMotorsports
      @RKMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I use the impact just for the purpose of recording the videos quicker, after recording I go through and snug everything up. The impact is merely just for audio and holding the bolts in place until I can tighten them down

      @@RKMotorsports I find your assemblying and fixing videos very nice and use them to learn something about motorcycles before I buy my bike. Please if you can use the right processes and tools... or just mention you'll do it and with what :(

    I really need to get one of those fork compressors. Have you ever sanded and polished the inner tube to get rid of pitting? @7:17 makes my palm hurt lol

    • @RKMotorsports
      @RKMotorsports  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a link in the description for the fork compressor tool if you are looking to pick one up! And I have used 5000 grit sandpaper for very small pits in the inner tubes before

      You don't need it for compression tool just use a 8 mm Allen and take the bolt out of the bottom of the fork and pull the whole cartridge out as one piece

    I love your vids, but damn are you a lazy mechanic lol. Over tightening everything with an impact gun and using no grease where needed, and fitting that front wheel without the correct procedure to assure it's aligned correctly too. I liked that tool for the forks though, never seen one before.
