I could tell that Dita is very knowledgeable of vintage lingerie and her line of clothing. Great to see her own private vintage pieces as well. Doris was also an amazing interviewer. Such a special episode!
Two of my favorite people ❤️. I have a funny story about Dita, the first time I ever saw her was in Playboy (my Grandfather's copy). I tore her centerfold out, and kept it, as if my Poppop wouldn't notice. I didn't get into trouble for taking it, but instead gave my family five minutes of hope that I'd be straight. It wasn't a sexual thing, I just thought she was beautiful. I was ten years old when I did that, and my family still makes fun of me for it to this day. My Grandmother says "for a week or two, we thought maybe you weren't gonna be gayer then a handbag full of rainbows"
@@thewaywewore7371 Before I came out as transgender when I was a teenager my family thought I was just a really effeminate gay boy. Apparently they all knew from the time I was a toddler, but that one incident made them think I liked women
The keyhole in fully fashioned stockings is there to allow the seamstress to finish the seam by turning the welt into a circle. Makes a finish which looks more neat :)
Dita, please, please, please bring back dressing gowns!!! I’ve always loved the 40s movies where they wear dressing gowns before they get ready to go out!
If you don''t know about her already, Dita's friend, Catherine D'lish has a company that does fabulous dressing gowns. Just google her name and it'll come right up. I'm saving up for a Cassandra gown with the feathers.
I feel like interviews with Dita are so rare, so thank you so much for bringing her on! The conversation was fascinating, both women know so much about vintage clothing.

I have made lace stockings and when i went to make my second pair the fabric lady argued with me. She told me i couldn't make it without stretch lace! I was like i already did and rode my bicycle in it and was Fine! Thank you Dita.
I found her book in the library and read it all in one night. There are countless things that I still do from her book as self care every week. I don’t own a single piece of lingerie, don’t even wear bras, and I don’t know how to sew. That being said, I just watched this whole video. Just love watching knowledgeable people talk about the things they’re passionate about!
So ironic how I'm watching this in a vintage lingerie slip, then again it's appropriate lol. Dita is one of the reasons why there is still glamor in lingerie, I enjoyed hearing how much knowledge she has with each item, you can tell she has a love for timeless lingerie.
TH-cam recommended me this video because i sew lingerie as my hobby. Only after 10 minutes of this interview i paused and went to google Dita's brand to see more details. Very impressive! The attention to style, materials and details is amazing for this price point. I loved the interviewer as well. Actally, i loved everything about this video so i've subscribed.
This was such a wonderful episode! I've always associated The Way We Wore with Dita ever since the reality series on the smithsonian channel! The sheath dress that appears at 8:35 reminds me so much of the dress she wore in S2 E2!
The two of them are so cute together discussing all the little design details, and it's really wonderful to see women supporting each others businesses

Favorite episode and thank you Dita for giving me the idea for a more comfortable bra design for myself! 61 years old and hate bra's and haven't wore one in several years!
What a treat!! Thank you, Dita, for joining in this episode and sharing your collection. That dress was fabulous! Doris, your collection always astounds me! So beautiful! A good lingerie set under the most modest outfit can raise a woman’s confidence!
I LOVED this episode!!! I'm a bigger girl with a large chest. Finding beautiful, vintage inspired underwear is hard 😥 Vintage fashion has been a passion, like Dita, from a very early age.
