Excellent Christa you’ve said that before ..I wish a lot more understood how you easy it is to save money and have food put away !Goon on you ..it’s rewarding !love Lynne and Wayne
Asian plum sauce!! That sounds delicious!! We busted out the old soda stream the other day, so I’ve been making cordial to mix in it. So far lemon (of course!!) & pineapple. I recon that leftover plum juice would go well!! (Looks like I have a job this weekend!! Lol!!) Xxx
Lemon and pineapple !!!Yummy !if you’ve plums handy people make a plum wine too ..I never have …yes Asian plum sauce goes down well with most people at meal time !❤lots of love to you Lynne and Wayne
@ the lemon is always a hit. I’ve made it for years. If I can get lemonades, it’s even better, but my mate who had a lemonade tree moved out of that house!! (So I’ve bought a tree, but it’s a couple years off giving me fruit yet!!) I want to try passionfruit next. I’ve heard of people making fruit wines. From all sorts of fruit!! It looks relatively easy, we may have to give it a go one day!! Xxx
What a beautiful capable couple !! ❤ So glad I came across your channel, I’m looking forward to binge watching all your videos !! It’s a real credit to you both !
In my stuffy little apartment with no range hood for smoke or smells or air conditioning to cool down, I dream of an outdoor kitchen just like yours. It's just beautiful. I'm keen for more aussie content about things like this by humble souls, you remind me of my beautiful late mum who i miss so much. x
Ohh I remember many decades ago living for a short period in an apartment so I understand you dreaming !!A few people say I remind them of their Mum ..I think it’s that era I grew up in that we still were taught the old fashioned ways !Im sorry you miss your Mum❤️I’m sure you are a mentor to others which helps them grow ..Take care..stay safe well and happy love Lynne and Wayne
Good morning. Great to see you back . I love your old stove. There’s nothing like that around here like that. I remember when ya’ll built the outdoor kitchen. It’s awesome. Love you guys. 🥰🙏🙏
You remember !Oh that’s nice to hear ..it’s my favourite place on the farm !!Cooking and looking at the view !Keep warm both of you love Lynne and Wayne ❤
yes - my carer is Czech - she gave me extra tips on preserving. I so wish I could do everything I would want to but once your health/mobility (family and friends) leave you - it's so difficult. Im so glad you have a partner, friend and co-worker like Wayne. Hes a good 'un.
Yes it would be very difficult for sure Fullofhope !❤I can’t work a full day nearly half a day but Wayne and I work good together ..❤Have a good day there so lovely to see you ..keep well and strong in the Lord .love Lynne and Wayne ❤
I love your outdoor kitchen, what a great setup. I preserve very similar to you Lynne. In early autumn I will have pears, apples and feijoas from our backyard trees to preserve. Take care. Fiona 🌸
Oh yes Fiona❤We will have pears apples and feijoas too in Autumn along with citrus !Good on you !!In a backyard that’s terrific for you to have all that produce !Have a beautiful week love Lynne and Wayne
I have a gas stove on the verandah for the same reason! I would love a woodstove one day, your plums sound delicious, I grow the low chill ones here in QLD, I will do this with my next harvest, for some reason I didn't get as many this year, so we ate them straight off the tree, thank you for such a lovely and practical video! 🥰
Yes some years the trees have a break and then an abundance the next year !Oh I have a gas stove in the cookhouse too !So handy to boil or fry something !Good on you Joanna you are certainly on the right track !I pray many more see the light and start living simpler !God bless you and you family in these times and stay well safe and happy up there love Lynne and Wayne ❤️
YES!We remember you coming by too Duke !ANY pie is good in our books ..apricot ,plum, apple ,cherry ,pear, pineapple lol ..our grandmothers knew pies were cheap to make and if you had a milking cow you had lots of custard and cream !!love Lynne and Wayne
Hi Lynne! What timing. I had bought a can of plums some years back to see if i like them. I just came across that can today. They're a couple years past the best by date but im still gonna try them. Take care, my friend!
The stove outside is a great idea specially in summer, I'd love something here but all the grass is bone dry and yellow, which is normal this time of year I'd be worried of starting a fire if sparks were to come out of the chimney, even though I have cattle in the paddocks around the house and they have eaten a lot of it down, I love preserved plums we have those cherry plums growing wild here they pop up everywhere and they are great food for birds, preserving the excess fruit and vegetables is worth it, I still have 8, one litre preserving jars of tomatoes left over from last summer, my success story this summer are my pumpkins I have 14 Jarradale pumpkins 1/4 grown in size already with heaps of female flowers ready to open, I see we now have a egg shortage, "manufactured of course," but I wont go into that, I think you know what I mean, Oh and I've been celebrating the return of the great Donald Trump today, there is hope.
Yes!We saw the egg shortage story !!!!Well we will see with Trump but so good to hear you have good pumpkins growing and still some tomatoes left from last season ..You can never have enough stored away ..we lived off our stores for the last 12 months and hardly bought a thing from the supermarket ..It felt good being independent of the corporations ..Take care Peter ..we heard you were dry down there ..we are still green ..They say a wet late summer but we will wait and see as I don’t believe half their forecasts ..love Lynne and Wayne
Love the outdoor kitchen.👍 You and Wayne did a great job. It's been a very cold winter, in Florida, so I've actually been using our oven.😄 Always enjoy watching you work in the kitchen. Your kitchen fascinates me. Lol, I have boxes of pasta sauce jars squirreled away. In the U.S., regular lids fit the Classico jars perfectly. I haven't done any canning since the Christmas ham so I should put something up. So happy we're seeing more of you and Wayne. Love you both.💗. Have a blessed week, my friends, and God bless.🤗🤗
Ohhh that’s good you have jars stored !!our pasta jars don’t fit the ball lids but I did buy a lot of new screw lids for the future ..!lol if you saw the mess in my other rooms from prepping you wouldn’t be fascinated …but I show my uncluttered parts of the house 😂lots of love to you Willow and all the family love Lynne and Wayne
@@HOMESTEAD_AUS When people come into my house they think it's neat as a pin. If only they knew what's stashed behind closed doors. We were getting overrun with filled canning jars so bought a cabinet that holds 140 jars. I still have 13 cases sitting at the end of my bed.😬 My spare bedroom and garage look like a preppers dream. This year, we're trying to eat through our excess food storage to compensate for the high cost of groceries. Big hugs you two. 🤗🤗💗
You certainly to Dan ..it’s awkward here in Australia because the word canning isn’t used BUT I’ve been taught by you USA guys many canning recipes so I give credit where credit is due ..canning ,preserving and Fowlers as we say here !😂To be honest I’m a rebel canner that will can ANYTHING if it’s food on the table in the future .love Lynne and Wayne

I love your set up! I have a fire pit so I can cook fruit or can. The heat looks good it’s freezing here in Oklahoma brrrrrrr. I have a fire going. We just finished our home we planned on building an outdoor kitchen. Consequently, we won’t because the tax assessor is harassing us. So heck no they are now trying to tax us on chicken coop moveable structures and everything. It’s such tyranny. You’re so right things are getting tougher! Stay safe! Good bless Wendy 🙏🇺🇸🌎
