A worth to consider element is that of the national anthem. Presently the national Anthem of Mauritius is sung in the ex-colonial masters language; English. How many Mauritian in context of population percentage does really understand the wordings (lyrics) of what is supposed to be a unifying component of the Mauritian society in its entiresome.
On the other hand, 57 years of water has gone under the political bridge since independence.
Bearing in mind the fact that creole is a unifying element and medium of communication, is it in the spirit and name of national unity, not far fetch that a national effort is invested to translate the National Anthem in creole and ensure that the said is sung in the language which unifies Mauritians as a truly ONE NATION???
