I just paid $500 to my CPA to set it up. Wondering if I could’ve of done it myself but I didn’t want any hiccups. I’ll definitely be doing setting up my next one.
The state of California requires that changes to the LLC's address be made by submitting a Statement of Information: bpd.cdn.sos.ca.gov/llc/forms/llc-12-112021.pdf
Question my business is online, could I use another state other than California? If yes how would it affect me doing events in California with a different state LLC? Thanks in advance
Unfortunately, under California law, all LLCs are required to annually file a California tax return and pay at least an $800 California franchise tax if they: -Engage in any transaction in California for the purpose of financial gain or profit. -Are incorporated or organized in California. -Have qualified or registered to do business in California. -Are “doing business” in California, whether or not they are incorporated, organized, qualified, or registered under California law. In general, it is very difficult to run a business or conduct business activities within the state of California as an LLC without paying fees and taxes. Even managing the business, i.e., making phone calls or using the Internet from CA, can be considered "doing business." The penalties for not paying are high. Thanks so much for the comment, you aren't alone in that sentiment. It's true-- California has a reputation for not making it easy for small businesses. That said, most small business owners must live and do business in California for all kinds of reasons. And if they're running their small business in California, they need to protect their personal assets from business liability. There are people out there working to change how California regulates and taxes small businesses. You can find a few of those organizations here: calosba.ca.gov/local-direct-assistance/community-partner-resources/

Step one, never start a business in California
You are not alone in that sentiment.
if Elon musk and Joe rogan moved their companies out of California to Texas. that should raise questions to why you would to commit business suweecide
