Of the instances listed here, not all of them are truly possessed Bowser fights:
- Luigi's Mansion Bowser is pretty much a mechsuit made by King Boo and not the real thing.
- Bowser's Inside Story has a clone of Bowser as the final boss (with the real Bowser on your side and not possessed so wtf).
- While Mario Odyssey does technically have a possessed Bowser, you don't fight him while he's possessed nor use him to fight anyone else, so this doesn't count as a battle either.
- The Fury Bowser is questionable, as he wasn't so much possessed as he was made mad by the sludgy paint his kiddo slapped on his face. The sludge is not a separate entity, nor is it Bowser Jr. controlling his father.
With this in mind and excluding duplicate battles from remakes, that means Bowser's been possessed as the final boss a total of 5 times. In comparison, King Dedede has been possessed as part of a final boss battle a total of 3 times (never as the "true" final boss), but has also been possessed more frequently as non-final-boss battles. Additionally, Dedede started the trend as early as 1995 and only around 3 years after the first Kirby game was launched.
In other words: Get on Dedede's level, Bowser.

Luigi's Mansion, it's remake, Mario & Luigi: Bowser's Inside Story & IT'S remake do not count as they're not the same Bowser. King Boo used a costume & Dark Bowser started as an evil star while Normal Bowser didn't.
