    How could you possibly stay in Kanab and not even know how to pronounce the name? This is just so wrong.

    Thanks for the video! I hope to get there someday. You have done an awesome job highlighting your strategy. I can't thank you enough. I will save the video to watch again later. Sorry your trip ended. As you know, I have been waiting for the delivery of my GeoPro 19FDS. Just watched a dealer video. They claim they waited over a year to get a 19FDS. I reached out to Rockwood. They were super awesome. Still no idea when my rig will arrive, presuming April.

      Thank you 🙏 for all the support - we very much appreciate. The 19FDS is one we would think of trading for if we were going to do so will be curious what you think. So sorry you have no update :(. Hopefully spring will be the latest it will be.

    I spent three months as a live-in volunteer at a hikers’ hostel in Kanab, and visited all the places you feature and many others on my days off. Kanab is a relaxing and gentle place to stay and so well situated for exploring all these places of interest.

    Hi Linda and Troy! We really enjoy watching your videos and we have been using quite a few of the tips that you guys have given. Could you please answer a question for us. In one of your previous videos, you talked about applying Locktite to the threads of the bolts that are holding the floor of the trailer to the frame. I went underneath the trailer today and noticed that none of the nuts were missing but they were definitely not that tight. I removed the nut and applied locktite. When I tightened the nut with a socket wrench, I notice that I get to a point where the nut does not seem to be getting any tighter but continues to turn. Were you able to tighten the nuts to a point where you could no longer turn them? Thank you so much and keep up the great videos.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Greg - thanks for watching! I ended up putting a second nut on them just in case. Haven’t had any trouble but the bolt does still turn when I tighten them. With the double nuts, I feel it’s at least a back up. Hope that helps!

      Ha! Seems like there is always that town nearby where you live that people mis pronounce. When we lived in Fla, we lived near a town called Ocala. And one night we were watching a network TV show and they misprounced it lol. Would have thought with a major production budget that it wouldn't have been missed lol!
      Dark Skies looked like a very nice park- it was booked for the days we were going to be there. It was directly across the street from the one we camped at. Thanks for watching!

      @@WinesPinesandCanines Utah has many weird names and pronunciations. At least you were not in Hurricane. It is pronounced. Huricun. We have names like Tooele. Pronounced tooila. And a town called Duchesne. Pronounced dushane. Lol. Zion is often mispronounced as well. Too much emphasis on the Zi. Lol

    We love this area!! We were surprised by just how far the North Rim was from the Kanab area.... we stayed in East Zion when we went to Zion. Absolutely loved our time there, And loving seeing your videos of the area. So much to see there! We too did the Pink Sands State Park, we only did a drive thru Kanab (enroute from Page to East Zion).... we need to get back.... we missed so much, especially the Grand Staircase Escalante. ~ Brad and Diana

    Oh, my gosh, we have gotten so far behind on videos. You guys do such a great job in production of your videos. That's pretty smart to have a base so you didn't have to pack up every day; and yes, the drives are beautiful. I'm surprised at the amount of snow you guys ran into. The little snippets you provided are wetting our appetite for more. Sounds like the town didn't disappoint for your food and other needs. Great hikes. Like the boots. Nice spot.

    Enjoyed your video. Starting to plan to head out in that direction ourselves later this year. So I have a question about “canine”, aka Dezi: Where did you board him out there, while you went hiking, etc? Or did he go everywhere with you? BTW, he’s so cute. I have a Border Collie that I have to plan for.

    • @WinesPinesandCanines
      @WinesPinesandCanines  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Debbie! Thanks for watching! It is an amazing area. We there there almost a month and still - so much we wish we had been able to do! For Dez - he does go everywhere with us. He doesn’t do well when separated from me (Linda). It is very common with his breed (havanese). He travels excellently but it does bring challenges. We usually switch off so we can go inside a museum, etc.
      For hiking - the national parks typically will have at least one short hike that is dog friendly so we will go on that. But when we were out in Kanab, we found that other than Zion or Bryce (both had one dog friendly hike), he could pretty much go where we could. We took him hiking in Grand Staircase, in Page, Arizona when we hiked out to Horseshoe Bend, to the sand dunes in Coral Pink Sand Dunes State Park and on the hikes in Kanab and when we were in the Grand Canyon we rented bikes and we rented a pull along cart for him so he could ride with us. Now he is little so it’s hard for him to keep up so if he isn’t walking, we have the stroller or a backpack for him - not really an option for a border collie haha!
      I would say the only time we have had an issue was Zion. Most of the park is by shuttle only (no cars) so we had to take turns on the shuttle and it does take a good part of the day to do with some short hikes. But, I have heard of a kennel called Doggy Dude Ranch that is only a few miles away from Zion that may be a good option!
      Hope that helped! Have a great trip out this year - would love to hear about it when you get back!

      @@WinesPinesandCanines thanks for responding. The things we do for our furkids, LOL. Yes your response was helpful. Our BC wants to go everywhere with us but I know it’s going to be a challenge at the National Parks. He’s also getting older and some trails are now too hard for him. He likes to believe he’s still young but his arthritis later reminds him he’s not. This is the most challenging part of planning trips now. From a fellow North Carolinian, Thanks for your helpful information.

      So true! They do make the rules sometimes lol! And I am sorry - hard to watch them get older and struggle. I think there will likely be boarding places that are pretty well reviewed outside of many national parks as I can imagine that it is a common problem for pet owners. And hopefully you both are staying warm with this lovely NC weather we are having today!

    Hello Linda and Troy! Awesome video! Thank you for sharing some of the highlights of Kanab and how it is situated to all of those iconic natural sites! I also look forward to your upcoming videos of other sites that you visited on this trip.
    We are currently in Buena Vista CO. We picked up our travel trailer yesterday. Heading back to Ouray in a couple of hours. That construction on Hwy 50 is still going on; scheduled to last until Nov 2022. So, M-F, we have 3 1hr passage times. And it is open on the weekends. They also open it for holiday travels.

      Yes!! I will let you know how the trips go! The first one is just an "admin" trip as we head south so that our lap sealant can flow to put on a solar system.
