    You may have done an episode on this since you shot this video, but if you haven't and are unaware, I'd like to point out that since Ryobi has introduced 4 volt USB charged battery tools, this charger is especially useful for charging them. Thanks for checking the pass-through charging on the USB. That let's me know that I can charge both types of batteries at the same time. Just charging the 4 volt from the 40 volt was going to be handy, but pass through is even better. Rock on Ryobi! (that's code for Let's go Brandon!) LOL

    Yeah I have 3 of these charges that came with tools and they all have the USB port on them. I wonder if they stopped including them. One thing I hate about this charger is that the power supply plug in is on the same side as the charging light indicators on the battery so if you want to have a look at the batteries flashing lights the cord has to be turned and routed backward which feels like it may be hard on this flimsy charger in my opinion. Great vid!

      yes they did stop coming with tools and I bet they stopped coming with tools a while ago

      Scrolled down to make the same comment -- I don't recall the model number of my line trimmer off hand, however, it came with a 4Ah battery and the 043 charger...

    Im pretty sure I got the 40v USB charger with a tool, I think the 40v mower. I havent bought any 40v charger separately from a tool.

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I was told they don't have that included anymore for a few years. and if you got it with a kit recently its a very old kit you bought

      @Vtrjfrost 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ManCaverToolsI got the newer 40v expand-it trimmer not that long ago, maybe a year and the mower not even 2 years ago.

    We lose power at our house semi-frequently (most people on our street do) for some reason. We use these chargers with Onite lights so we can have lights at our house when there is no power. Onite 20-US24USB3W-WW USB Camping

      that is the good thing about these, it nice to have power when the power goes out

    You have things a little bit backwards. The charger without USB just recently started being bundled in with tools. All older 40volt tools came with the USB charger if it had that profile charger. It's a shame they stopped giving it with tools. It came with my blower and mower, on the newer models it's been downgraded to the one without USB.

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The comments in this video say the opposite of that. people are saying that they used to have it in tool kits but they don't anymore and havens for a few years. so I was told

    • @AlexKunstar
      @AlexKunstar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I'm saying the exact same thing. The charger without the USB port didn't exist probably about a year ago. If you purchased a 40v tool back then, and it had that size charger, it all had USB ports. I have the 3rd Gen blower, it wasn't years and years ago thst I got it, maybe 9 months or so, it has the USB port, if I go into home depot today and buy it, it's bundled without the port. That's why the model number is higher on the one without the port, it didn't exist earlier.

    • @AlexKunstar
      @AlexKunstar 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Now that I think about it more, the very first time I saw the small charger without a USB port was when you unboxed your buddies self propelled 40v mower. The slim chargers without USB ports are very very recent have only been bundled in with tools the last few months. These are the first wave of tools to hit depot with the downgrade unfortunately.

    I'm struggling to think of a situation where this would be a good solution. I know this video is 3 years old but probably around 10 years ago I got a power bank/external battery that is smaller one piece and there's no way I spent $50 for it. It easily keeps me charged up on a 3 day camping trip with enough juice to share with whoever needs to top off their phone as well.
    The lack of usefulness is probably why Ryobi dropped the usb port on newer products.

    Hey man. I am a big fan of the channel. I have a question. I noticed these started coming with almost all the 40v tools. Is there a reason they don’t include the wall chargers anymore? Is there something wrong with the wall chargers?

    • @ManCaverTools
      @ManCaverTools  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      probably to make people buy them again, instead of giving them away in kits

    I understand the difference but for me one USB port isn't w0rth $54 plus tax. I don't have a workshop yet and I usually charge my phone at night charger is ony nightstand. Thanks again for sharing your thoughts and videos Rodney

    Still the price difference for a USB I think it’s not worth it, but I’m not a fan of Ryobi anyway ...but for the groupies... it’s a must have! Thx again!

      so are you.i can tell you are because I clearly stated why a lot of people won't know the difference between the 2. obviously you didn't watch the video. watch the entire video before you use your genius mind

    Perhaps you should consider changing the name of this video to RYOBI USB CHARGER. I sat through this video thinking I might actually learn something about the Ryobi battery/charger. Another wasted six minutes.
