If you don't have Ida, *“A Crow”* and *“The Storyteller”* are other characters to try. I saw “The Totem” in the water with both of those Monument Valley characters.
I don’t think the totem base appears anymore, I’ve been playing as A Crow and haven’t even SEEN it once. I sent an email to Crossy road support but no response yet. Same issue with unlocking the pineapple character which I asked abt in the same email.
I'm still catching up, trying to create as many unlock videos as possible. I was actually trying to get the Cheerleader, but then Ida showed up in the Prize Machine. 😄
It wasn't too hard for me, cause I used a setup which is no roads and just a single river (by dying and going back to the start). Then you can just watch that one part of the river and wait for the Totem or Hipster Whale, or Nessie to appear.
@@iilm2004 I just die and go back to the starting until the game gives me the 1 or 2 lake(s) without any roads in front. Then it is just the waiting part.
the totem was so hard for me to get and actually, I still don't have it. it makes me even more sad because the totem is one of my favorite characters from monument valley. (yeah, I know its weird that my favorite character is a pillar with eyes that slides around.)
The Hipster Whale (another other characters like the Hipster Whale) seems to up more when I'm not looking. 😄 The wait at the title screen trick should work. It's boring, and time consuming, but usually effective. The Totem square should up eventually, if you're just playing normally with one of the other Monument Valley characters.
I was at 330/330 earlier this week & now 334/334. Which characters appeared? I don't see anything new. BTW I'm at 159/160 on my Window yodo1 Crossy Road. Only Totem remains. I just saw Hipster Whale in the river, not the Totem head, while playing as Storyteller, so I don't know why that happened. I couldn't get to it anyway.
There was a recent update… Version 5.2.1… which says, “Bug fixes and improvements.” Now my Character count says… 334/335 …and I think that missing character is the Piggy Bank character. So it seems that the “Special” characters are now being counted. If this theory is correct, then you would have the Piggy Bank character unlocked already. Is that right?
@@PhoticsTV Forgot to mention, I got Totem on my desktop yesterday. Now 160/160. I can't get Piggy Bank on there since they stopped supporting the Windows version long ago (I asked via email if they will ever update it... No).
Did you try it with The Storyteller? 🤔 The general idea is to jump on the floating square that looks like The Totem. So if you’re looking for that secret character, and don’t have Ida already, it seems like a good idea to try jumping on that floating square.
It can be boring, as it takes a while, but waiting at the title screen is a consistent way to catch the Totem. But, it's probably more fun to just play periodically until the Totem shows up. It's like the Hipster Whale. If you're looking for him, it might be a long time. But just playing the game normally, I spot him lots of times.

Thank you so much for the video and telling how to unlock the totem but for some reason Momentum valley is really glitchy and the totem log doesn’t really show up so please can you give me some advice?? Also I really like your content and your voice sounds almost fake :D
@@lxiba__ I'm not sure why The Totem isn't showing up for you. Even just playing the level as normal, that little yellow square should appear eventually. If it's taking longer than 30 minutes to spot The Totem, then something is wrong. I'm not sure what that could be though. Which character are you using? 🤔
It's funny, recently I got the Crow (or one of the Monument Valley characters) on a different account, and I saw what looked like the Totem square right at the start. It might be more fun to just play through the level, rather than just waiting for the Totem. I waited at the beginning because I was trying to create the video as soon as possible. More river rows should make the waiting shorter. If you have 2-3 rows, it's probably around 20 minutes.

Same bro. I even found it once and could reach it, that was so frustrating. Luckily I could get it later.

It's closer to 30 minutes, if you don't have many river rows. At least, that's how it was with the Hipster Whale.

More river rows should make the waiting shorter. If you have 2-3 rows, it's probably around 20 minutes.
