There is already sarees made in South India from banana silk. I think the main problem is the fragility of banana fiber, which is a roadblock to using it in mechanized looms. Currently banana fiber fabrics are usually available as mixed with cotton, because banana fibre that's soft enough to be a comfortable clothing is not tough enough to be used alone. It would be better to make products more focused on it's absorbent qualities. Kitchen towels, bath towels or mop heads would be a great product to be made from soft banana fibers. Maybe even the softness part could be utilized well for baby clothing, if it's marketed well

Banana tree trunk fibers are soft, its more likely to be converted to thick handmade paper or low-cost sanitary pads. It's really a good idea to use this instead of regular cotton trees. But the quality of the paper might not be good for regular writing or printing. As the absorption of the ink varies in this case and paper may be a bit thick.
One idea is to use this paper to make plates and cups.
I hope there are more plastic items that can be replaced.

What an innovative idea,Sir. Banana plantation is undertaken in vast majority of the lands across India. If this technology is improved, the biggest beneficiary would be the Paper manufacturing industry and the farmers would get money for the trunk also after harvesting the main produce. If a similar idea is developed with regard to wheat stubs , the farmers would automatically stop burning them , polluting the surroundings of Haryana, Punjab etc .You deserve full compliments for the innovative idea. I suggest you take up the matter with the Ministry of Environment and Science and CSIR - Justice Nooty RamamohanaRao, former Judge, Madras High Court.

Banana leafs could be sold to restaurant and take away .Then once used they can be recollected and given to cows who will give dungs. With these material you can put then in field and it is a good natural supplements.
