For anyone wondering. Yes the Palicos will be able talk in this game and yes there will be an option to switch it back to regular cat sounds from previous games.
On one hand, I don't want my Palico yapping about basic info I don't need.

Having the ground actually change in response to monster attacks instead of just a burn mark is so cool.
I’ve always liked monster that do that, like being able to use velkhanas ice for jump attacks 😃
A lot of the natural rocks in the desert area look like fulgurite too!
Let's see if other lightning based monsters wil have the same or if it's just this one's gimmick. anyway it's definitely awesome.
@@ahoukun6044 I mean that really should only depend on the power output of the lightning.
Like I think Kirin might be able to match this power, maybe Astalos, but Zinogre might not be able to alongside the fact it usually doesn't occur in deserts.
My best guess is regular heat or electricity, maybe like a Glavenus scorch mark would only be hot enough to make surface glassed and burnt sand and not full on glassed mineral structures like this.
I mean I can almost guarantee they dissolve/disappear within a few moments of forming and the ground will look like nothing ever happened, but sure it’s definitely a neat effect.
Something I’m surprised not many people have mentioned yet is that the way Lala Barina scratches her abodmen to release hairs is definitely inspired by the defense mechanism of some tarantulas! When they’re threatened, they’ll scratch their abodmen and release barbed hairs meant to keep predators at bay, usually aiming them at the eyes and mouth. It’s always so exciting seeing how they incorporate real world animals into fictional beasts and Lala Barina is such a welcome addition! It’s a little too early to say yet but it might dethrone Rakna for me as my top favorite.

As someone who keeps tarantulas, I easily understood the detail on Lala Barina which is pretty awesome
Considering the insanely elaborate display and dance moves the Lala Barina we hunt in the game are likely all male individuals

The only thing a stinger is, is a modified ovipositor (the tube that female insects use to lay eggs). We see that Lala Barina has a stinger, so the ones we hunt would be female (again: if Capcom doesn't ignore this piece of insect biology (even though Lala Barina is not technically an insect, but a combination of insect(s) and an arachnid)).
@@Breagle Yes, but all stinging insects are hymenopterans, and they aren't the only stinging arthropods. Scorpion stingers are derived from the telson, psuedoscorpions are their pedipalps, etc.

Lala Barina's paralyzing florets seem to be based on how tarantulas will flick the "hairs" on their abdomen at threats to spook them and cause skin irritation, thats really cool! and it also ties nicely into the whole "beautiful but dangerous, look but dont touch" rose aesthetic. love being able to see the real world inspiration behind monster designs

@@theadmiral4157 It'd be sick if elders actually affected the weather in this game beyond just looks. Like, fighting Amatsu in a locale would cause heavy storms and flooding, or Kushala could summon sandstorms in sandy regions.

@@draw2death421 You have to admit it's kind of stupid that the default armour for the female hunter has her wear a mini-skirt. Armour designs can be whatever they want in this franchise and that's great. But the default one is meant to supposed to match the kind of overall aesthetic they're going for at the start.
Which in this case is an exploration team heading into very unpredictable territory. All the other female characters we've seen so far wear trousers, why can't my female hunter wear them too at the start?
You also don't wanna wear a mini-skirt when going riding 😆.

As someone who started with 4U and fell in love with the Nerscylla (my first wall in a monster hunter game) I’m so excited to finally see spider-like monsters getting more recognition as more games come out. Really takes me back to that amazing moment as a kid when I finally slayed nerscylla for the first time and just started jumping for joy. I love this series to bits and I can’t wait for this game to come out!

It’s astounding what Monster Hunter has become over the years. I remember when it used to be this obscure DS/Wii game with confusing controls. Now it’s becoming one of the most successful and recognized IPs in the world.
It’s always been a successful and recognized IP. You’re acting like Nintendo hasn’t absolutely owned the handheld and even console market. That being said, monster hunter was definitely way more popular in Asian countries in the same way cod has always been more popular in the west. Monster hunter world definitely made monster hunter the name it is today in the western market. Glad to see monster hunter going back to the world universe for wilds.

That quote seems to be a slight nod to some lore in the games having a very strict set of laws against poaching. In 4U, you can learn about this group of super fighters specially trained to hunt people who break these laws and execute them so it would make sense that they would need specific permissions to do so and I find it to be an amazing little touch

as long as its the more niche mantles that fulfill certain roles, and not overpowered ones like evasion/rocksteady/temporal
I like boosters more than mantles because I can help the rest of my team with them, but as others have said as long as they don't bring back the 'overpowered' mantles that they then have to design fights around I can live with them.

Every sound effect this monster produces is majestic
it's also nice to see the mix of monster animations it's based off of. MH loves to recycle moves to give us interesting spins on stuff. zinoger flip into a nergigante/tigrex slam animation is a mix I wasn't expecting for sure!

The beginning of the move you can see that move is actually the end of a topple, so It might be some form of counter move like how Odogaron will lunge at you after being flinched in world

It looks like they split the demon dance into sections so if you're doing the combo and the monster is about to attack, you can dodge mid demon dance
@@Mare_ManIt’ll most likely be more but based off this trailer is seems like you can actually use ghille mantle to sneak up on a monster and potentially do a sneak attack type thing so they most likely changes how mantles worked.

Let me warn you, to gun effectivly you will shoot point blank or very close up a lot of times. Mobile monsters rarely let you stand back, and many powerful munitions have short crit distances. Think more doom guy, less sniper.

@Phoenix-sc6di I'm a already hip. I usually don't use guns until endgame or when I get bored, but see that monster triggered me like the kadaki's in rise I used guns exclusively for them lmaooooo Going full time isn't gonna be so bad.

Palicoes talk and they took away our rotating cooking spit. THat one actually hurts to most. Such a random change after all these years.
They could always talk, but never had voice over, I guess. I just hope they keep in the "Monster Hunter language" option, and it makes the palicoes go back to their normal vocalizations

@@Spo21re Im hoping thats just in field cooking and not making steaks with some cutscene. Not the end of the world if it is but would be a little sad not being able to chill for a sec on a rock in the middle of nowhere cookin a steak and takin in the sights.
Also I think I heard somewhere that the palico voices were optional.
Palicoes could always talk, they just never had an in-game voice

Them saying, "15 percent of the items I gathered are...nevermind," while meowing is adorable. However, for them to say it in the human language understandable to the player is way too much. Talking straight up was a thing for older & more experienced palicoes like traders & cooks, not the ones you hunted with. 😭

@@idkwatimdoingtbh It might not be an instant paralysis, like the video makes it look like. I think it might be a gradual build-up like Gore Magala's frenzy virus - so if you take enough hits from it then your fully afflicted.
As I feel like it might be a bit much for the hairs to cause instant paralysis with how many of them appear. But then again they do float slowly, so they're probably fairly easy to dodge (except for perhaps that big spin attack). Just need to make sure you don't accidently roll/run into a mine mid-combat (essentially).

The new flying lightning Wyvern is called Rey Dau. I'm gonna be completely honest. From the image I saw of him on the website (JUST FROM THAT) it became my favorite flying wyvern in terms of design in the whole series!

I appreciate how Wilds hammers home the theme of hunters being wardens of nature. The hunter refuses to slay the apex and Doshaguma pack leader, only doing so when given permission by the guild.
technically this was allways in MH at least in the lore
that the Guild will first infesitgate why a Monster causes trouble
and only if nothign else helps a hunter comes in and kills/relocates the creature
Yeah. That's the whole idea behind the guild, was to manage the hunters to prevent disrupting the ecosystem from overhunting and/or invasive species.
The idea that the guild handler can now make those decisions on the fly is a little at odds with the established lore.

I hope Blangonga returns in Wilds.
His moveset is similar to Rajangs, but he can also dig himself underground to attack from beneath you, he can throw huge snow balls, he can summon minions the Blangos, his breath attack is shorter but wider and deals ice damage.
Blangonga has good Chance to return because of the pack Mechanic and Congalala is pretty much confirmed because of the Armor we saw on the dual blade weapon preview. If Congalala is returning Blangonga has to be back aswell.
