Gawd, I love this man and could listen to him for hours (well, I do!)… I’m so glad you filmed yourself imparting this knowledge over the years. Miss you, hope you’re having a good health day! 🫶
Love your videos and the wonderful information you share. I fell in love with the Singer 201 because of you, and my children surprised me with one as a graduation gift. It sews like a dream, and I love it more than any other machine I have. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
I have a machine that does not have flaking paint but does have paint that has bubbled in some areas but there are no visible cracks in the surface. I am considering using this product with a fine needle and injecting this into the bubbles. would this likely work to resel those areas of paint?
Alex I have a 29 singer 66 that the shellac is degraded. This is my FMQ machine so looks are not to important but I want the bed to be smoother. Is a French polish the only way??
Alex can you tell me where i can find any videos talking about early singers and how they were experimenting with color , i think i found a machine that had been painted red before it was painted black then painted again , i think what i found was a recycled machine but by singer not some collector , and i want to find out as much as i can , there is chipping down to the steel and like a cake i can see a red paint on the bottom then black and then another black and finally clear , its an origanal finish on it as i can see the yellowing in the clear finish so i know its factory as i own many machines and i know factory from a restore finish , any help would be great , i think my model 28 may be rare and i dont think they used a red primer in 1904 , let me know if im wrong or on the right track please , you seem to know your singers .....thank you and stay safe .....
He said "white spirits". It goes by various names depending on where you are in the world and whether you're buying it from a hardware store or an art supply store. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/White_spirit
Is it normal that the polyurethane gloss varnish mixed with some white spirit is drying cloudy with white patches and making the sewing machine look dirty??? Or, is this part of the drying process?? I just applied it about 15 mind ago and I am starting to panick!!!!

When you’re cleaning with the cotton swab are you using anything besides spit?
Is it oil base or water paste poly ….?
Since he is thinning with white spirits (mineral spirits in the US) it must be oil-based polyurethane.
