As an old rocker tilling fresh fields in classical music, I sometimes think "Wouldn't this or that piece sound amazing with some 21st Century instruments or even an original StratoCaster." Now I'm sure I'm right!
Tom Castonguay too.... Discovered Yngwie in the mid 80's. I wish I'd pursued that line of music then instead of only the last 10-15 years. TSO, Nightwish, Versailles, etc. for awesome prog-classical-rock. The very first classical rock I heard was Ritchie Blackmore's version of Beethoven's 9th. Then I found a CD called Heavy Classi (It has a fat Viking opera singer woman on the cover) which contains primo recordings of Beethoven, Wagner, etc. all the heaviest, bombastic music from way back. LOVE this stuff now, but I still get a hankerin' for my Judas Maiden too.
