    Perfect. Greetings from Germany where the Master System had a good position in these days.

      Thanks! It has been a while since I visited Germany and I hope to visit again when things go back to normal. The Master System has a good library of games and it’s fun to revisit

    Ty George. Just picked up a master system with a faulty controller port, and now I know what to do to fix it. Looks easy.

    I just got an SMS from a pawn shop and neither port will go right on any controller and sometimes if you jostle the port a bit the machine shuts off, I suspect a bad or loose joint may be the case after watching this and will take a look at the inside

    Thanks dude. I've never solder before, does that matter?

      I would say that it’s good to get some practice before you try something like this. But this is not too difficult of a modification to do

    Hi there! I'm currently having trouble trying to make the controller port 1 to work properly (up direction won't work). I have two controllers and both works perfectly on port 2, but any of them on port 1 won't work the up direction. Do you know exactly what are the soldering points that are directly connected to the PCB so I can try fixing them? Thanks!

    • @LIRetroGaming
      @LIRetroGaming  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, when you look at the master system PCB you will see a row of five connections and a row of four connections where the controller port is connected to the board. Up is located in the row with 5 connections. I would start by adding fresh solder to all of the points in that row. Do you know how to use a multimeter to test for continuity? That will also help you to figure out if you have repaired the connection

      @@LIRetroGaming Hi there and thanks for the quick reply! I'm out of solder flux and will buy this week to fix it, about the multimeter I have no idea of how to check them. How should I proceed?

      Hi there! I was able to fix all the directions on controller port 1, but now button 2 won`t work! Any idea where it might be?

    I my cart slot is bad. I tried reflowing the solder but it's in really bad shape. I may want to replace the slot and clean up the area..

    I have this same board 837-6629, was having intermittent video, sometimes it worked sometimes it didn't. I replaced all caps, an now i have constant no video, clock signals look good, and reset/pause work fine, :S address lines stuck on low, any suggestion :S?

      Start with reviewing the recap, I’m guessing that something went wrong there. Did you reflow the cart slot? Is the 7805 outputting 5v?

  • @Exzticy

    Hey I have a question, when ejecting the master System cartridge there really hard and I feel like I’m damaging something. Is it like that, I half to do a lot of strength and I have very rare games.

    • @LIRetroGaming
      @LIRetroGaming  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is a little strange, it shouldn’t be so difficult to remove the games from the system

      @@LIRetroGaming So after a reflow, it now actually recognizes that there a cartridge in, but i get an error message with any cart. I dont see any bridges on the pins. Any idea what it could be now? The card slot plays card games flawlessly, and the built in games are good too.
