- We finally ventured away from our camp hosting job in the Wenatchee National Forest for a day and explored Mount Rainier National Park for the first time this summer. I will say that the park isn't very bus-friendly... There are many steep grades and winding mountain roads, so we were grateful that our new friend Landin was able to drive us and we left Gideon and the bus behind for the day. The Skyline Trail is in an area of the park called Paradise, and we can confirm that it's appropiately named. The wildflowers were in full bloom, the chipmunks and marmots were adorable, and the views were breathtaking. This was such a lovely hike to see, I must say! I took my mom to see the Hoover Dam 7 years ago, and, we both got pooped with walking those steep grades. I had no idea the marmot was a real animal, and, the unique voice it has--I bought a shirt at Dillard's made by Marmot for only $14...lol!

I hiked several trails at Mount Rainier back in the 60’s thanks for the memories. I think one trail was sunrise point, we spent one night on the hike in.

In June of 1974 while at that lodge the snow pack was 20' in the parking lot. They had tunnels to get to the inside of the buildings. We obviously couldn't hike the trails. Thanks for showing how beautiful the trail is, I will definitely have to go back and hike in late summer. Great video!

We climbed up to Paradise in our 35 year old vw van. Had to stop twice for our engine to cool down but we made it! Once we were up there we didn’t want to go back down, so we stealth camped in the backpackers parking lot for a week. Some of the best hikes we’ve ever been on! Was super excited to see you guys got to experience its beauty 🙏
